This story sounds very intriguing, and original. I love a phycologist thriller with twist endings, and look forward to diving into this interesting novel involving the complex idea of a coma that lasts many years and amnesia.

The book takes you inside John's head, showing his confusion and desperation to fit into a reality he doesn't understand

I am not sure whether the book is for me or not, because you need to keep track of several different things to understand the plot. There is the terrorist plot, there is John's amnesia arc, there is Hillary's divorce plot, and there is an undercover plot. If you enjoy plots of web-like complexity, go give it a read.

Normally, I am not interested in psychological thrillers. Although I have found character-driven plots can sometimes be interesting, I prefer books that are more balanced between characters and storylines. It almost seems like too much is going on in the story, when so many themes can be drawn from it. Guess I'll just have to take my chances and read this book.

I love the way the reviewer puts in a nutshell the life of John Gowan. The zeal still left in John is amazing; desiring to strive again, to come out of his struggles, to realize his dreams again. It's fascinating!
I think his accident was like a nemesis in regards to the many persons that lost their life in the Zenith Building Explosion.
A book that has a touch of friendship, freedom, terrorism, Love, professional success, is a must read.

"The Freedom Building" by Martin Kendall is a very exciting psychological thriller about a famous architect named John Gowan who owns an architectural firm with his friend Pete Williams. John makes some disparaging remarks about Muslims wanting to take back land from Israel. Terrorists then destroyed the Zenith building and John who is upset with the loss of life also sees an opportunity that will make his firm very profitable by designing and re-building the Zenith building. John is involved in an accident on his way home and wakes up in a hospital 3½ years later but does not remember anything about the building and thought it was one day after the accident. He does not know that everyone believes he designed and built the new building. The book focuses on John’s complex psychological life. John is suffering from amnesia but does not want anyone to know about it. If he looks at the building plans or the actual building he gets weak and sometime faints. He did whatever he could to stay under the radar but his life begins to crumble. John’s wife Hillary files for divorce, reason unknown, but it could be the lies he is telling about the design and construction of the new building. Did his partner Pete design it while John was in a coma in the hospital? John had a few episodes of heated anger and he also sparked a national debate by appearing in a television interview to discuss his views on personal and collective freedom. The angry outbursts might have also taken a toll on his marriage. A very good review that has motivated me to put this book on my to read list. I would also to learn more about the fine line between truth and deception.

I have always been fascinated by psychological thrillers but never had a chance to delve into one. Well thanks to OBC, I got one today. I can't wait to explore it. From the review, the story already sounds super unpredictable and I love such novel. Thank you so much for the free copy.

This review definitely got me interested in reading this book. This looks like an interesting read. It has all the elements of a novel id be interested in reading. Amnesia, terrorism, and some mystery thrown in for good measure. I like how the reviewer also highlighted the fact that it leaves the reader guessing constantly. It doesn't sound like it's very action packed, but it leans more into suspense which will make it a real page turner.
