So many wars and other atrocities have been committed in the name of religion.
A story unfolding in the fifteenth century in Borgata Cyrus, an Italian village situated high in the Italian Alps, sounds interesting. I admire people who fight for their faith, as some people do even today.

The Waldensian Martyrs written by Pam Vause is an intriguing story of courage and unshakable faith in the face of persecution.

The Waldensian Martyrs by Pam Vause is a historical fiction novel set in 15th-century Borgata. The novel features a religious toggle for dominance. Congratulations on BOTD.

Great review! Sometimes, I like a book with a historical narrative, but this one sounds a little too heavy for my taste. Although I am Catholic, I don't mind reading things that are negative about the religion. I have plenty of negative things to say about it myself.

Set during the 15th century, Pierto's story sounds riveting.

Thank you for that explanatory review. This is one of my favourite eras of history, especially as it’s set in Italy, a background of great art, religious and cultural change. I’d love to follow the de Vaux family and the Waldensian community as they’re written about in this book.

The Waldensian Martyrs sounds like a really exciting and intense book. It takes place in a time when people had to fight for their faith, and the main character, Pietro, has a dangerous mission to spread his beliefs.

Thank you for an interesting review. While historical fiction is one of my favorite genres, I believe that I am one of those who would be bothered by the violence in this book. I do admire those who stood up for their faith in an age of religious prosecution.

'I liked how thoroughly the novel portrayed the life of the de Vaux family and the Waldensian community. I also liked that nearly every episode had unexpected surprises to unravel.'
This makes this book sound interesting.

I have always enjoyed the history and fiction of Catholicism, Italy, the Vatican, and the Medici family. Your review is exciting and makes me want to read it immediately. I'm curious to view the pictures and see how they relate to the story. This is my first time hearing of the Waldensians, and I had to look it up. Now I'm invested! :techie-reference:

What great a sacrifice for the faith and for spreading of the gospel, the knowledge of the Bible. This history is a revelation of what formed the foundation of the Catholic Church, the struggles, the persecution and assassinations.

A thought provoking story featuring both inspiration, persecution and and resilience. Anxious to get started the adventure and meet characters that made this story interesting. "The Waldensian Martyrs" by Pam Cause must an exciting one.

I like historical fiction and said period of the 15th century in Italy had a wide influence on the rest of the world. I find the description and the sample quite fascinating. While I am normally not overly fond of religious content, it seems intriguing in this plot. Thanks for the gift and congrats with BOTD!

Set in 15th century Italy, today's BOTD is a historical fiction novel that focuses on themes surrounding religion and resilience in the face of adversity. Readers of the genre will find this to be both heartbreaking and inspiring. I like that the author also included photos of the places mentioned in the novel. Thanks for the helpful review. :-)

What a beautiful review, thank you. This is my first time of hearing about the Waldensian faith. The Roman Catholic church did do more harm than good, and I believe that was mostly because of a power tussle, not really out of love of the Gospel. It's a good thing that phase in Christianity is now behind us.
