Heaven Is For Real

Post by CassiCox »

This was, by far, one of the most engaging books that I have ever read. I am not the kind of person who typically dives head-first into a Nonfiction-True-Story type of book, but my husband recieved this book for Christmas and finished it in 3 days...and my husband finishes, on average, 2 books a year. The fact that he found it so enthralling pulled me in, so I decided to try it. I picked it up, and completed it in less than 24 hours. I couldn't put it down! This story follows the story of Colton and his experience nearly dying from an emergency appendectomy. This book, written by his father-Todd Burpo- a pastor- chronicles their experiences as Colton recalls his experiences in Heaven. He talks about how during his surgery he spent time with Jesus, and described meeting long-dead relatives he had never known, and he continually emphasizes how much God loves us, especially the children. In the innocent, straight-to-the-point manner of a child, Colton describes his experience in Heaven in a way that completely aligns with biblical scripture- scripture that Colton is not old enough to have been exposed too nor understood. It was the most convincing "experience with Heaven" that I have ever read or even heard. It pulled me in, didn't let me go, and left a long-lasting impression on me. What an incredible experience we have to look forward too!

One of my all time favorites. This book really opened my eyes, it had me living my children more than I thought possible, loving my husband deeper and being thankful for life. I do believe in God and think it is possible for this boy to have seen everything he says he did.
