I love my Kindle e-reader. I have 2 Kindles and my current Kindle is the new paper white. I am in love! My husband can now go to sleep without my reading light to annoy him and I can continue to get lost in my book until the wee hours of the morning. Best purchase I have made since I take books with me every where. It becomes a little impractical when you are stuffing 2-3 paper backs in your suitcase!

I love the kindle for the fact that it doubles as a portable entertainment center, and for the fact that at 2 AM if I'm desperate for a new book I can get one within a couple of minutes.

The down side is that it's not flash compatible. Mine was given to me as a gift and I love it, but if I'd been making the purchase myself, I'd have gone with a flash compatible tablet, and just installed the kindle app.
You can't put a rope around the neck of an idea.

I have a Kindle e-reader and Kindle Fire. I like them and use them both. I also have the Kindle app on my iPad. I love it that they all sync, and I can leave off reading on one device, pick up another one, and start reading in the right place.

I currently have a Kindle (an older version.) I love it! Since I love classics (and really long books), I've found that reading those kinds of books on Kindle makes it easy on my eyes. I still read books in print a lot, but I love when I get to use it since I don't have to carry a book around with me.

I have the Kindle HD. It's okay. It's more of a tablet than an e-reader. So if you want more of an e-reader I would go with one of the other kindles that focus more on books. I still love reading a physical book more, but I have begun to use my kindle a bit more since I got it a couple of years ago.

I have a Kindle Paperwhite, and before that a Keyboard. Prior to that I had an original Nook but returned it because the older versions had battery problems and it froze and wouldn't work after that. That's a con. My original Kindle Keyboard ended up with a crack in the edge of the case, near the screen, I sent it back and replaced it with a new one and not more than a month later the same thing happened. This crack was smaller and easy enough to ignore, unlike the other one, but it was still frustrating. I ended up giving it to my aunt, feeling comfortable enough with the crack that it wouldn't get bigger. It didn't hinder reading, it was just an aesthetic problem. I also read at night and it didn't have a light so I wanted the Paperwhite instead. That sort of thing is going to be an issue when buying electronics, it's pretty much a given. I haven't had any problems with my Paperwhite so far, and I've had it for 2 years, maybe 3 I can't remember. When I looked up to see if I was the only one with the crack issue - because it happened in the same corner - it was apparently pretty common, and someone's theory was it happened because that's where folks usually hold the device, and the pressure caused it to crack. I haven't had any problem with my Paperwhite, so that's a plus.

I do love it for its ease. I feel I read books faster when in eformat. And I'll give a perfect example. I started reading my recent review book on the Kindle app via my desktop, and I got so distracted by everything else on my computer that I couldn't get through it. I finally decided to move it over to my actual Kindle device and I zipped through it, no problem. I also like it for car rides, as it doesn't bounce around as much as a book. It's steadier and I don't find myself getting a headache/car sick from it.

That's not to say that I don't still buy print books. I do. I have purchased a ridiculous number of them over the last year (yay library book sales!) and I still love traditional reading. I don't understand the argument that ebooks are going to cause print to go the way of the Dodo. Audiobooks didn't. Stairs still exist, despite elevators and escalators. I think if ereaders help a person read more/start reading altogether - especially kids - then more power to them. That's what books are for.

I have a Kindle. It's really convenient if you travel a lot, or don't like carrying around several books in your bag. However, I prefer the physical book, because there's just something magical about a physical book when you turn the page. I also like the physical book, because I feel so accomplished when I close a book after I finish it.

I really don't want to get a Kindle but I want all of those free books floating about, so I compromised and just got a free app for the Kindle on my laptop, from Amazon.

I bought my kindle a couple of years ago and was a bit skeptical at first, due to the fact that I love the feel and smell of a real book. But after I read my first book on it, I became completely addicted. I read books so much faster and can multitask while I'm doing it. I am now a huge fan and recommend them to anyone who truly loves to read.

I have a Kindle Fire HD and love it. It's so portable and battery last forever. I take it with me everywhere I go.

And mods, delete this if I'm breaking a rule, not intention, but since the discussion is about Kindle's specifically. My author actually is giving away a Kindle Fire HD with case right now as a promotion. If anyone wants details, send it via pm so I don't break my word of not putting any spam in my discussions on here. I promised I wouldn't and I wont. :-)

I love my kindle. Don't get me wrong the feel of a book is great. I love the physical books on my bookcase. But the kindle device is great. I like being able to take all my books with on the kindle and have to choose just one. You can customize the books on kindle as well. It is a real advantage to have kindle. I still buy some physical books the ones so good I want to display them on my bookcase.

I have a Kindle fire. One of the guys on here recommended it, and I bought it quite cheaply through Dick Smith online, and it's awesome. I love it.
