Amaya Montgomery is the chief executive officer of Montgomery Innovations. Despite her wealth and status, she feels empty. Amaya yearns for a baby, but she cannot get pregnant. No matter how much she gives to the community with her wealth, her pain and the ghosts of her past never go away. To make matters worse, Amber, who is a heroin addict and Amaya's mother, is gunning for her daughter's money. Quentin, who is Amaya's husband, appears to be a charming, attractive fellow, but the narrative makes it clear that something is off about him. What’s the deal with Quentin? What will happen to Amaya?

Inescapable trauma is the central theme of The Inheritance of Amaya Montgomery, and I like its execution. Through Amaya's memories, journal entries, and present journey, readers learn how the past gnaws at the present no matter how much you try to hide or resist it. Amaya's constant battle with the ghosts of her past to reclaim her agency is a battle relatable to readers who have to deal with doubt and anxiety as a result of ordeals that happen in childhood. In addition, The Inheritance of Amaya Montgomery taps into the fear of being in a relationship with a partner who pretends to care about you but desires only control and owning whatever you have. Without diving into spoilers, the characters that readers are meant to root for, Amaya and Bree, confront selfish, egotistical antagonists who believe they are entitled to take whatever they want.

To sum up, I do not have anything negative to say about this book. The Inheritance of Amaya Montgomery appeals to female readers who are interested in thrillers, raising children, mental health, and empowerment. Although the book contains one error and four blank chapters after the donations page, the editing is great. If you are sensitive to depictions of gaslighting, domestic abuse, and substance abuse, stay clear. Therefore, I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.

No wonder why Amaya feels empty and unhappy despite her wealth and success; the people who are closest to her, her mother and her husband, are making her miserable. Amaya seems to have a lot on her plate with all the antagonists. Thank you for your review, I enjoyed reading it.

This seems like an interesting novel depicting ways in which personal issues affect people directly and also indirectly, with problems coming from other people who are supposed to care for your well-being but actually harm you. Thank you for your great review!

It sounds like The Inheritance of Amaya Montgomery offers an emotionally charged, intense reading experience that dives deep into themes of trauma, empowerment, and personal struggle. The character of Amaya, despite her wealth and status, represents the internal battle many face in dealing with unresolved past issues, and this makes her story both compelling and relatable.

The themes of this book don't really appeal to me; I'm not sure I'd be able to connect with the protagonist. There's a huge audience for this kind of book, so I'm sure it'll be well received.

Amaya seems to have a lot of things going on. Her mother, her husband, her need for a child, her money. I hope that she can lean on her friends and that they can help her face what’s coming. Thanks!

The MC's wealthy background can make it hard for regular, busy people to connect, for sure.

This sounds like a very engaging story. I enjoy stories that include journal entries from the character's perspective because it gives a unique insight into the character's mind. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Interesting book and review! Amaya's struggles are real. Despite being successful she feels unsafe as she doesn't have someone who has her back. Her own mother covets her money, so her skepticism is understandable. I can see there are multiple toxic issues at play here, and readers could benefit for inspiration. Thanks for sharing this review. Adding it to my bookshelves now!

Wealth and success may have been achieved, but the façade presented by those we would expect to be the most supportive is heartbreaking. Adding this one too to my bookshelves. Thank you for a great review.
