Having an animal pet is one experience that never leaves anybody the same. This is because it opens you to a new dimension of these animals you have never known with respect to their emotions, behavior, companionship, and more. In fact, it makes you have great respect for animals. However, it is unfortunate that most pet owners do not have access to informative books like this, and they handle pets ignorantly. The Dog Training Manifesto by Bartholomew Henri enlightens readers on the necessary approach to bonding more deeply and understanding their pet dog.

This book emphasizes the need to consider your pet dog in your budget. This is important to help you cover their vaccinations, feeding, vet appointments, and training. Pet owners can also explore other options such as pet insurance. This book further discusses the basic traits and instincts of dogs while comparing them with those of wolves. The author extensively discusses the different learning styles of dogs, their communication styles, emotions, the importance of consistent routines, reading canine body language, mastering basic commands, and more.

I found this book to be extremely important and informative. Before now, I was considering getting a pet dog, unaware of the responsibilities attached to it. After reading this book, I can say I am doing that for the right reasons and as an enlightened and responsible pet owner. I love the author’s use of personal stories and experiences with pets, which were included in this book. It made the author's message more clear and easy to apply. The pictures and illustrative diagrams included in this book are very commendable. They helped to give a mind picture of the author's writing.

This book was excellently edited, and it had a commendable organization. The author's writing and message were well-detailed, easy to comprehend, and left no room for confusion. I found no errors in this book, and I had nothing to dislike about this book.

For the reasons above and how this book appealed to me, I will rate it 5 out of 5 stars. I recommend this book to all pet owners and aspiring pet owners (especially dog owners) and to all lovers of nonfiction books.
