I have always kept a journal since I was a kid and I made sure the hiding places were really good just in case! I've also kept all my old journals, I feel like they are a version of photos you can go back and they store your memories, feelings and experiences. I always have a good laugh when I check out my journals during high school. SO much drama that makes no sense!

I write in my journal almost twice or thrice a week. Everything i write helps me put something new to my story writing projects.

I've written in a journal for the past couple of years, on and off. I really value writing in it, especially being able to read a first-hand recounting of things that mattered in my life at that specific point in time. Personally, though, it was a hard task to be consistent with. Word of advice for others, I found that I was most consistent when I didn't have to force myself to write at a specific time. For a year or so, I would make myself postpone my journal entry to the night even when I had a sudden urge to write in it at another time. Furthermore, some nights I had to motivate myself to write in it, even when I didn't want to. It became a lot more enjoyable when I just gave myself the goal of writing in it every day, at some point, and writing in it when I felt like it.

I used to keep a diary that I used to write in but my mom found it one time and went through it so I have this very rational fear of people invading my inner thoughts...
I read through it once and my grammar was absolutely appalling but it was pretty cute! Some of the things I used to obsess about seem quite trivial now.

During the times I have anxiety attacks or just when I am overthinking in general, I find writing on journals very helpful.

OMG, one of my greatest fears is people having read my inner thoughts! I am a little freaked out when I read that your mother read it. I guess that is just how mothers are.

Yeah, I also find writing down my thoughts on my writing projects helpful and insightful.

Nope, never have, never will. Every time I try, I get bored of it within a day or so, so I guess it's not for me. Even when I was upgrading in college and the teacher suggested we keep a journal, I wrote a story instead (much more interesting than writing about your day, which I find incredibly dull and dreary), but unfortunately, I didn't keep it (it was similar to Narnia about characters finding a gateway to another world. In my story, it was through a hole in my late grandmother's raspberry bushes, which my younger cousins used to use as a fort).

I used to as a kid, but as an adult I have found I need a less formal journaling process. I just have a Journal folder on my computer where I can save notepad documents with the date and subject and just type whatever is on my mind, better than the "Dear Diary" approach which just wastes time rewriting or retyping headers.

I fall in and out of journaling. I do it mostly when I need to purge overwhelming feelings. I'm always mortified reading old entries so I tend to throw mine away. I wish I could be more consistent with it. I do feel better when I journal.

I have always journaled in a spiral notebook and then immediately ripped the page out and thrown the page away. I wonder if anyone else does this. It always feels good to get my thoughts out but I never want to keep it or reread it.

I've been keeping a journal for the last 8 years. I really enjoy journaling and hope I never get tired of it!
