I love reading physical books. I do understand the convenience of e-readers especially when traveling but they cannot replace the good old fashioned book. I really love the organic feel of the pages and the way they smell when you open them and flip through the pages.

I definitely think there is a place for e-books. I always fall sleep reading in bed, and the light, plus the fact you don't lose your page, make an e-book ideal. Also great for travelling.
However, for me reading is about more than just the story, it is about the book itself. The feel, even the smell of it! So I would never give up real books.

I don't think that hardcopy books will ever completely be replaced. There is something special about reading a physical copy of a book. I will say that ebooks have made it possible for me to read more books than I could have ever imagined. Even if I can't find a hard copy of a book around, I know for most books, I can buy an electronic copy online without even needing to leave my house! My ability to access books and knowledge has increased. I love that I can have a bigger e-library of my own, and get physical books for the books that I want to share with others, or have as keepsakes.
