"The diary of an actor- Part 1" by Chandra Preethi is a fictional story inspired by the life and times of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. The story covers several topics including love, friendship and the price of seeking justice. Sushil and his girlfriend Raksha went to a birthday party for a friend named Rukta. While Sushil has loving feelings for Raksha, she is very controlling and expects Sushil to do what she wants him to do. At the party Sushil meets Usha, his former manager and her fiancé, Sohan. Usha is a celebrity manager and Sushil worked with her until she broke her leg and had to have another manager step in to work with her clients. When Sushil walked around, he noticed that there were several people snorting cocaine, including Raksha who was almost unconscious from snorting too much cocaine. He told Raksha that they needed to leave and he needed help getting her into his car. Outside by his car he confronts Usha about the drugs and she told him drugs were very commonplace in Bollywood. Usha went back to the party and a lady that had too much to drink bumped into her and spilled her drink on Usha’s dress. Usha went looking for a bathroom so that she could wash the drink off of her clothes. After accomplishing this feat at a drinking fountain, she bumped into a piece of cardboard. She picked it up but then noticed a girl bound and gagged under a table next to the drinking fountain Usha unbound the girl and removed the cloth gag from her mouth. The girl told her that she had been kidnapped so Usha decided to save her. She called Sohan several times but he did not answer so she thought of Sushil and called him to help her. He arrives in time to rescue the girl and turns her over to the police. Sushil wants the Mumbai Police to pursue the girl’s case and arrest the people that were behind her kidnapping. One needs to read the book to learn what happens to the Nepali girl. Will the police get justice for the Nepali girl? This is an exciting story that is easy to read in short chapters. The author developed the characters to bring out the love, friendship and betrayal themes. The book deserves the 5 out of 5-star rating.

I like Sushil already. He's obviously a man that lives by principles and doesn't take anything less from those that associate with him. I do hope he was able to get to the roots of the kidnapping without endangering himself.
