Review of About Spiritual Energy
Spiritual energy is the universal life force that governs everything. You are a spiritual creature living in a spiritual universe — a walking, talking soul animating a physical body. These are some of the foundational principles outlined in this self-improvement book that blends metaphysical ideas with science.
Its premise is that we are all stardust — made of the same energy that fills the universe. Our spiritual energy, our soul, is infinite. Every cell in our body has been around since the dawn of time. Therefore, understanding, accepting, and cooperating with this spiritual energy is the key to bringing serenity and happiness into your life.
You determine what you experience in life. You are the creator of your destiny. These are profound statements, and this book reveals the secrets to creating the life you desire.
Other areas explored are discovering your life purpose, understanding your emotions, and managing the energy thieves in your life.
Overall, these insightful and intriguing concepts are well-presented. However, there were moments when further explanation appeared necessary. For example, “We Are Responsible for How We Handle Change” states there are times when it seems everyone is out to hurt you and times when people hurt so badly that they do harmful things, but offer no practical remedy. In contrast, the chapter “Energy Thieves and Psychic Vampires” is particularly enlightening, informative, and full of relatable examples and helpful solutions.
Additionally, some of the headings did not quite accurately reflect their content. For instance, “Your Soul Controls Your Body” explores how to harness spiritual energy to achieve your goals and dreams. And “You Determine Your Future” focused more on life after life than one's current earthly existence.
I have read my share of spiritual literature over the years, and admittedly, the thought of a book bridging science principles with spiritual teachings was intriguing. The science, presented with a touch of physics, was illuminating and not overwhelming. All the core spiritual principles are represented and expressed in a straightforward, informational manner that often feels a bit sluggish. Nonetheless, there are some significant nuggets revealed.
The text is immaculate and free of errors. Also, no profane or sexual language is used. Reincarnation and karma are frequently discussed, which might be objectionable to some religious faiths.
Overall, I have to say I have mixed feelings about this book. I think with a few refinements, such as rewording a few headings and replicating the format of "Energy Thieves and Psychic Vampires” to some of the other chapters, i.e., adding relatable, real-world examples, it could be an excellent spiritual development book. These changes would also improve the pacing and keep the reader more engaged.
And for those reasons, I am rating this book 3 out of 5 stars. Even in its present form, I would recommend the book. I feel a neophyte on the spiritual path will find many mind-expanding views to examine. And for those already on their spiritual journey, it could serve as a good refresher to reinforce one's understanding.
