The idea of humans meeting a peaceful, honest species like the Olarians is quite interesting. I’m curious how Zed and Olaria’s relationship will shape their two worlds. Congrats on BOTD!

The telepathic and telekinetic power of Olarians is something to envy for. The utopian world of Olar is awe inspiring but for some himans that might feel like living in a fish bowl, having no privacy. I look forward to learning how the author addresses these issues. Thank you for a wonderful review!

I am a very enthusiastic science fiction fan, and this book sounds just perfect in my opinion. The search for a new home for humans leading to the discovery of different species and comparison of our cultures—is one of my favorite scenarios. Such a plot allows to highlight social problems we face and teaches us to be more tolerant and accepting of things we don't fully understand. Congrats on BOTD!

It appears that human beings and Olarians are totally different. I liked this:
"The ability to read each other's minds created a society of beings who are necessarily without the deceit, corruption, ignorance and violence that is so prevalent in human culture."
The statement is a summation of everything that causes most of the problems that plague humankind. I have added the book to my want-to-read shelf. Thank you, @Steinkar.

I was keen to read this book as the author, like myself, is not a sci-fi fan, but they enjoyed the book. I will have to pass on this book because of the sexual content. Thank you for the review.

I like that the author used the Olarians and their culture to highlight some issues with humans and the Earth. I believe that Earth is the best place for Man and rather than run from our mess, it's is best we do our best to make things work.

I wonder if Olaria was the solution the humans were hoping for. I'm also curious about how it all works in Olaria, with everyone knowing what everyone else is thinking. In fantasy stories people are usually able to shield against mind reading (to varying extents), so a science-fiction approach to telepathy should be interesting. Thanks for the review!

The New Mind Travelers is a great sci-fi novel. The author seems to have done a great job with world building. This is in regards to Olar and the Olarians abilities and way of living. I like that there's an element of romance in the story and I'm curious about how everything unfolds in the story. Hopefully, later editions of the book will be better edited.

Although I love sci-fis, at first glance, I thought I'd be overwhelmed by the world-building of The New Mind Travelers by Phill Boas. The review shows otherwise though, so it might be a worthy read.

“The New Mind Travelers: A Utopian Speculative Science Fiction Novel " by Phill Boas is a science fiction novel, book 1 of a 2-book series, that uses science and technology to examine human relationships. The story takes place in outer space in 2096 when people were leaving the overcrowded Earth for other planets and rich corporate families were making a fortune organizing and facilitating the moves. Dr. Zed Eko, crew psychologist for Space Fleet Command departed from Earth on Sunstreamer on September 25, 2096 headed off to explore a newly discovered planet. The human like race they found there were called Olarians, who had telekinetic and telepathic abilities. Having these abilities, they could read people’s minds and therefore always know what they were thinking so being honest was very important. The Olarians’ leader Olaria, helped Dr. Eko develop his latent telepathic abilities. The Olarians became friends with Dr. Eko and he left his lies and subterfuge behind. Phill Boas, the author, had experience as a psychologist, management consultant and leadership specialist so he uses his skills to explore how society would work if people were honest and did not have ulterior motives. The leadership of Space Command used dishonesty and subterfuge to get ahead in the program so there was work to do to change their ulterior motives. Having telepathic abilities would allow a man to know what a woman was thinking before he asked her out. If the woman also had this ability, then there would never be any deception between the two of them. Sounds ideal, especially for someone whose wife lied and cheated on him and they ended up divorced. I highly recommend this book.

"The New Mind Travelers" by Phill Boas sounds interesting, and the idea of exploring a new planet with aliens who can read minds is exciting. Congrats on BOTD!

I enjoyed this review. It is very detailed and explored the core message of this novel: the use of science and technology to assess human relationships. I hope to read it soon.
