This book got me thinking about how oftentimes we are biased by physical appearances and how often we tend to stigmatize people. I truly hope this story, as sad as it can be, can help me understand more about how to avoid racism.

The book sounds intriguing, blending crime fiction with a timely and important social issue like racism. The author masterfully crafts a story that is both suspenseful and emotional, offering not only a realistic portrayal of hate crimes but also a powerful look at the impact racism has on people. It promises to be an engaging and thought-provoking read. Congratulations on becoming BOTD!

I haven’t read the book yet, your summary really brings the story to life. It sounds like a tense thriller that also shines a light on the real-world consequences of prejudice during the pandemic, it clearly balances gripping suspense with meaningful social reflection. I’m intrigued to check it out.

I will never be able to wrap my head around people hurting others because of such an absurd social construct as race. But I do love a good thriller, and much more such a meaningful one. Thank you for your review!

Nice review! This sounds like a very interesting book that relates to the Global Pandemic that we experienced back in 2020. Why people blame innocent people for something that they had nothing to do with is beyond me.

Congrats on BOTD!
The compelling mystery "Hate Crime" by Richard B. Standridge takes place around the COVID-19 epidemic, and it follows Detective Steven Ryan as he looks into a string of attacks on Chinese women that are driven by race.

I will recommend this book to a colleague to get a copy of it. Read it and share with us what lessons they drew from it. Am interested in the themes around Prejudice, Racism and Hatred as noted by the OBC Reviewer. I would love to read it too. Congratulations book of the day

Set in San Diego, today’s BOTD follows Detective Sergeant Steve Ryan and Crime Scene Investigator Shui Chen as they work to catch a violent, yet clever, predator who’s been stalking and attacking women of a Chinese biotech firm. Readers of crime thrillers and unpredictable storylines will want to pick this one up today! Thanks for your helpful review! :-)

I think this one is not only a great thriller but a thought-provoking read. During pandemic, we all witness this happening all around us. The hate was severe towards the Chinese people, specially the ones living in foreign countries. I appreciate the author for writing a story about it.

After reading the review, "Hate Crime" sounds like a strong and engaging story. I like that it’s a crime novel with a good mystery and a main character that grows throughout the book. The short chapters and clear writing seem like they help keep the story moving. I’m interested in reading it myself.

Your analysis of the book's themes and characters is spot on. The author's ability to weave together complex issues like racism and prejudice is truly compelling.
