Yeahh, I read Hate Crime too it’s actually a really gripping story.
I liked how Detective Ryan’s character developed, and the mystery kept me guessing.

Steven has a sensitive side that shows in how he cares about the victims He doesn't act just to do his job, but because he really hurts what is happening.

Should you wish to enjoy a fast-paced experience, this will certainly give you a fast glimpse of thrill towards the end. But if you prefer to savor each moment, with greater attention to detail when it comes to character development, embarcing the journey rather than simply feeling the need to rush to the finish line, then this might disappoint you.

Richard B Standridge has really done a great job with "Hate Crime" Richard B Standridge. I am impressed by the work out in to create realistic characters, especially the characterization of Detective Sergeant Steven Ryan, and the story's exploration of racially motivated crimes. I hope we learn to stop hatred, racism, and hate crimes.

Good review. It highlights the important aspects of the book, both positive and negative. It is a shame that racism is still a thing in this day and age. No matter how developed people could become, they could still be dumb and cruel.

I want to read "Hate Crime" by Richard B. Standridge because it shows how dangerous hate can be, especially during tough times like a pandemic.

I am intrigued by the cases of attacks on Chinese women. I will give this book a chance despite the editing issues mentioned and some of the content, as I believe it has a good and relevant storyline. Thank you for the review.

I love crime novels because of the puzzles and mystery involved. I double-love this one because it focuses on a serious issue in the world today – racism and it's effects. I wonder if this issue will ever be eradicated.

"Hate Crime" by Richard B Standridge is a crime novel about the evil of racially motivated hate crime in the midst of a global pandemic. The sample was so good it was hard to put down. Helen Yee, a Chinese accountant with EnviroMed Biological Research Company, an American – Chinese joint venture was attacked in her home in Southern California and the office is in San Diego. The sample was so well written that I could visualize what happened to Helen at 2:35 a.m. when the attacker was hiding in her shower when she used the bathroom that night. When she returned to bed the attacker snuck out of the bathroom and put a hand over her mouth and told her not to move or scream. He beat her and her facial wounds would require reconstructive surgery. She had asked him if he was going to kill her and he responded I should but he did not. Steven Ryan, a former Naval pilot that became a police officer came to the hospital to talk with Helen. Steven was an alcoholic and started his alcohol abuse after he was honorably discharged from the Navy. He had flown combat missions in Afghanistan and he fired two tomahawk missiles at his planned target, the first missed but the second missile blew up the anti-air missile launcher. He later learned the first missile hit a home and killed a family including seven children. In addition, two children living in the home next door were also killed. He had terrible nightmares and his drinking dramatically increased. He told Helen that he would catch her attacker who had spray painted Chinese Killer on the wall of Helen’s home. The story began with a man visiting his mother that was dying a terrible death from COVID-19 in a hospital and was with her when she died. The attending nurse told him she would not wish that kind of death on anyone. This was most likely the man that attacked Helen. The doctor at the hospital Helen was taken to told her he was going to take samples from under her fingernails and scan her body for possible body fluids left by her attacker. Based on the sample and the official review I highly recommend this book. I do not understand how people can be so hateful to attack an innocent woman blaming her for his mother’s death when she had nothing to do with the possible source of COVID in Wuhan, China. There have been many hate crimes in the U.S. since Trump’s first term and sadly they are only getting worse since members of his administration keep stoking the fire of hate.

Hi @ Ohanele Chinonyerem, I am just trying to help you. I just read your comments on the official review of "Hate Crime" and I would recommend you expand your comments to prove you read the official review and sample, a required by the OBC. This sounds like a powerful and timely read. I appreciate how the book tackles serious issues like racism while still keeping the suspense strong. The fact that the mystery wasn’t predictable makes it even more appealing. Definitely adding it to my list.
