Re: What is the minimum time ever you finished reading a boo

My husband's a fast reader, but my style of reading a novel is different. I literally read every word and sometimes stop to think about the scene I've just read. I admire people who can take that much material and read it that fast. I just have never been one of them. I read to savor the experience. Perhaps that's a failing.

Cate, I don't think that's a failing at all. When I really enjoy a book, I find myself reading quickly to find kind of an instant gratification...find out what happens immediately and then boom, done. No more book. I'm sure it's way more satisfying to take your time and enjoy it as much as you can. I envy that you can do that. I don't have the patience and find that I have to force myself to slow down.

Never fear. Yours is a gift. My husband recalls everything he's read, despite reading so fast. I have another friend--the critique partner I mentioned, who is also a very fast reader. He claims to savor the experience. I tell him he simply likes living in the fast lane. I had to do so for college, but never again--especially when it was for nothing but pure pleasure.

I think two days. I was reading Unearthly, which was honestly EXTREMELY good.

I read the 50 Shades Trilogy in under 6 days, the Mists of Avalon in two days. It depends on the book if I can't put it down I often loose sleep to read, Superstitious I read in a day, that book was something else! Other books I never finish because I lose interest.

It depends on how interested I am in the book. Once the author captures my attention, I can complete a book in a few hours.

Something less than 24 hours. I don't know the exact time lot.

If the book is a good read and I can't stop reading, I usually finish the book within a day or two.If its a book I moderately like, I usually finish it within a week.

Although I can stay up till morning, I just can't finish a book in a day. It's frustrating, don't you think?

It depends on the length of the book. I've read short (between 100 and 300 pages) books in a little over an hour.
