You made some great points about the plot and characters. Although I haven't gone through the other books of this series, I think the book vibes with me. I hadn’t thought about it that way before. Thanks for sharing your perspective!

Hi Spoorthy, oh if you haven't read the others, this is an excellent stand-alone novel. I hope you get to read it.

The novel’s depiction of faith twisted into fanaticism is unsettling yet timely, and even though the familiar emotional arc felt recycled, the intensity of the story reminds me why this series has captured my interest.

I read a novel that's part of the Hillary Broome series a few years ago, when it was the Book of The Month. It wasn't the first of the series, so I might have missed bits and pieces that limited my enjoyment. Maybe I'll try again starting with the beginning of the series. House of Cuts,House of Dads, and House of Eire are the first three in order. I think Eire, being third one was a botm. I really enjoyed the first three. Four and Five are still on my 'to read' list lol.

This review provides a very balanced take, and I appreciate the honesty. It’s interesting how the dynamics shift when a series character like Hillary changes so much over time.
