Insofar as the word 'should' even has meaning, then we must say that the past is exactly as it should be, everything that happened should have happened, and everything that should happen will happen

Family is an important theme in the novel, but not in the traditional way. This is because the idea of family that is developed goes beyond blood relations by turning a clowder into a family that is chosen by its members.

Family is important, but when you are not with them anymore, finding a Clowder and making them his family now was also important to Bushytails. You do what you can to fit in and belong with another group when you leave home.

Family is important, but family is considered to be more than blood relatives.

I agree that family is important. Bushytail spends his whole life hoping to experience a family connection.

Family is important, no doubt about that. But a family is not necessarily means someone that was related by blood. Bushytail journey pictured this very well.

Having a family is very important. But family doesn't mean only blood relation. A chosen family, as was the case with Bushytails, is as important. The story tells us the importance of having a family that supports us and that family doesn't end with blood relation. I absolutely adore this aspect.

Yes, I agree with your definition of family. So many children are now dealing with non-traditional families, and reading this book will help them feel like their family is "normal."
