The connection between Valentina and her daughter Chiara is especially poignant as a reminder of how powerful motherly love can be.🐜🌱

Three stories interspersed in Belle Ami's "Mona Lisa's Daughter." The interesting and emotive build up began with the life of a young woman who was voilated in her teens by an obsessive young man. The plot also brings readers further into the horrors of World War II and the sufferings of the Jews at that time. All these makes for a great read!

World war II in Italy, the rape of a young girl, having to give up a baby, no support from your own mother. Valentina's life is not an easy one. I hope she gets her daughter back and does not have to go through with the marriage.

It's sad that Valentina had to go through what she went through and not have the support of her mother. I'm glad she had a convent for a refuge for some time and I do hope the story ends well for her.

Great review. Valentina journey seems like a really hard one the challenges she faces are something no one should ever experience and her strength and resilience are truly admirable.

Valentina's fate is heart breaking and so is the fate of jews during WWII. The book highlights their plight. I am eager to know how the three stories interperse and conclude. Thank you for a wonderful review!

The book narrates the horrors of WWII and focuses on the story of Valentina, a 15-year-old girl violated by an obsessive man. Valentina falls pregnant and is sent to live in a convent. Her transition into womanhood is riddled with many challenges, including an arranged marriage to the man who violated her.

I'm intrigued to find out how things turn out for Valentina and if she goes through with marrying the same man who violated her. I'm also interested in learning about the effects of World War 2 on Italy. Thank you for the review.

From the review, this books seems to carry a lot of emotions. Especially bitterness from what happened to Valentina. It is painful that such an ordeal forces a different trajectory in someone's life.

This review has educated me about the tragic stories in the book. But I was captivated by the story about girl who went through the convent with traumatic experience, and also coming home to once again living with trauma because of her mother wanting her to married to the very man is pathetic.

This is an incredibly moving review of Belle Ami's Mona Lisa's Daughter! The depiction of Valentina's strength through immense trauma, pregnancy, and the historical horrors of WWII and the Holocaust sounds incredibly powerful. It's great you highlighted the intriguing Da Vinci love story! Your point about the Italian language and interspersed stories is valid. A strong 4-star rating for an emotional and educational read! Awesome review.

"Mona Lisa's Daughter" by Belle Ami sounds emotional and Valentina’s story is heartbreaking. I’m curious to see how she handles everything and whether she gets justice.

I've read another book by Belle Ami, The Girl Who Knew Da Vinci, and I loved it. I'm sure this one is equally well written. Thanks for the review!
