Spiker the spider and Crispin the cricket are friends. They are unique individuals with distinct abilities. The story chronicles their journey as they discover joy in their everyday experiences, leading to a delightful read. The book features visually engaging illustrations on alternate pages that spark children's curiosity and maintain their interest.

“It is better to be glad than to be sad. When you have joy, you can think about something good.” This excerpt from the book Spiker the Jumping Spider Learns About Joy, written by J.M. Ashmore, reflects a beautiful sentiment to teach children. The book teaches children the importance of accepting every situation and finding ways to help themselves and others using available resources. This mindset is crucial and must be practiced in daily life. The story helps to encourage a positive attitude from an early age that will lead to a joyous life. I highly recommend getting a copy of this book.

The book is a wonderful piece of literature and is perfect for children between the ages of four and eight. It is designed in a way that will appeal to younger readers by incorporating relatable characters and situations. The book seamlessly integrates important life lessons into the story. The two main characters, Spiker and Crisper, demonstrate how people can have both similarities and differences. They learn to be compassionate and experience joy from helping others, teaching young readers the values of acceptance, tolerance, gratitude, compassion, and a positive attitude.

At the end of the book, there is a section that contains a series of questions and answers related to the story. This section summarizes the key takeaways and enhances comprehension of the story. It is particularly advantageous for older children within the age range intended for the book, as this section can be used to assess their understanding of what they have read.

Moreover, the book also includes some interesting information about jumping spiders and crickets, which is both educational and fun for kids. It is an excellent way to introduce children to the fascinating world of insects and arachnids.

The book ends with a beautiful verse from Galatians 5 that lists the fruits of the Holy Spirit. It is a heartwarming and uplifting way to conclude the book, leaving young readers with a positive message and plenty to ponder.

While I found the PDF version of the book to be absolutely beautiful and error-free, there was one aspect that didn't sit well with me. I noticed that the text and illustrations were not presented side-by-side on the same slide, which could have made it easier for young readers to follow. Nonetheless, it does not call for any reduction in the rating. I did not come across any content that would be deemed unsuitable for children. Therefore, considering all the above aspects, I rate the book five out of five stars.

Spiker the Jumping Spider Learns About Joy is an excellent book that would be a valuable addition to any school or home library. The writing is simple and engaging, the illustrations are lovely, and the book has an important message about life skills that is perfect for young readers. Overall, this book is a great addition to any child's library and is sure to make a lasting impression on them.
