Ruby Red by Kerstin Gier
Gwyneth must now unearth the mystery of why her mother would lie about her birth date to ward off suspicion about her ability, brush up on her history, and work with Gideon--the time traveler from a similarly gifted family that passes the gene through its male line, and whose presence becomes, in time, less insufferable and more essential. Together, Gwyneth and Gideon journey through time to discover who, in the 18th century and in contemporary London, they can trust.
Now, I have to admit when I decided to read this book I was a little hesitant. I only picked it up based on a recommendation even though to be honest the thought of time travel book sounded a little to science fiction for my taste. However, I am very pleased that I picked up this book, it was so amazing.
First of all, the concept they have of time travel in the book is so different than what I had imagined. I found it really interesting how they are able to time travel and how they can't exactly control it. This leads to the real gem of the book. The amazing back story that underlies the whole time traveler gene.
When I originally read the synopsis for the book I assumed that the main characters being able to travel back into time would be the most interesting thing in the book, but I was so wrong. Not only does this book contain the interesting time traveler factor, but also secret societies, famous people from the past, romance, centuries old mysteries, and so much more! This book was really good I would definitely recommend picking it up.

I read Ruby Red on a three hour flight to see my aunt. I couldn't stop reading. It was just so easy to get into and the characters were fun. I thought it was easier to enjoy than most time travel books I've read and I love the bit of romance.

When I first picked up the book the cover was soooo girly and oh so princessy so I only read it because my friend kept pestering me to read it, and boy was I GLAD it was sooo good and it was like a KING SIZE CUPCAKE of a book.
The first part of the book was great but it wasn't my fav part. The middle and ending was hands down AMAZING!! The characters was very well developed the only bad part is Gwenyth cries ALOT. Kerstin manages fiction with such balance the book isn't was too confusing but just enough and it isn't boring it's exciting with twists. I give this book 4.999 stars. Hope you guys read it!!!!!
