I really admire the way this review pulls out the core emotions in The Mystery of the Hillside Motel. David’s narration, even as a child, adds a personal layer that makes the story feel intimate and reflective. I especially appreciate how the reviewer touched on the mix of genres it’s rare to see adventure, romance, and a hint of the paranormal woven together so gently. Even with the age inconsistencies and a few contradictions, the spirit of the book still shines through. This sounds like a heartfelt, light read that speaks to curiosity, connection, and the innocence of childhood friendships. I’m definitely intrigued!

What possibly could two 8-year-olds get into? Guess I’ll have to buy the book to find out. Who knows, this could get adapted into a Netflix series. Congrats to the author for having the BOTD.

This book reminds me of Famous F8ve and Hardy Boys. Young, teenage detectives going on adventures to uncover the truth. I am sure my 8yr old will enjoy reading the book. Thank you for a wonderful review!

Eight-year-old David and his parents, while on a trip to visit his grandparents, stop at an ancient-looking roadside motel. There, he meets a young girl named Teri, and together they set out to uncover the secrets of the mysterious motel. I think I'd enjoy reading this light, fun read. Thanks for the review.

Not sure what mysteries does a hillside motel offer, or the ways how David and Teri stand out. Might be a bit too light for my tastes. Just got to read and see.
I write the best reviews possible. :idea2:

From the sample I read, I can attest to what the reviewer says about the writing style of the book. It's simple and easy to read. This makes it appropriate to teens. Furthermore the theme of developing romantic relationships can act as a guide to this age group.
