Reading a book in one day

If I get into a book really intensely then I read it in a day but it doesn't happen that often. I don't think it is good or bad. Whatever works. The problem is when you forget to get off the train at your station because of a book and end up forty miles away from where you should have been.

If I start a book and I fall in love with it then I finish it within hours and then have to find another book! I absolutely love to get lost in a book and am always on the search for my next book!

I once read an either book while my family watched a movie. I was finished the book and still had time to watch the end of the movie and the book was over 400 pages - 'Noughts and Crosses' by Malorie Blackman, If I love a book I have to keep reading. I did it again with 'The Fault in Our Stars' by John Green and 'Fangirl' by Rainbow Rowell.

Reading a book all day isn't bad at all in my opinion. Then again I've been known to read for entire weekends.

I've read a few books in a day and I get a raging headache when I am done. I do that "just one more chapter" thing until I end up just finishing it.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to avoid the headaches?

I have no time to read a book in a day anymore, but I used to do this a lot when I was younger. My mother hated it. She said there was no reason to buy the book if i was just going to have it end in a day. Sometimes I wish I would've taken her advice and savor it for a couple of days.

Reading an entire book in one day is a good sign that it was a great read. That's all.

Only if it affects those around you and the rest of your life. If you're able to keep up with basic chores, your environs isn't a dump, and those you love don't feel neglected, I'd say read to your hearts content!

I do it all the time! If the book Is really good I will read it all in one day, otherwise, I will just slowly read it day by day

The quickest I've read a book so far is 2 days. BUT, I literally just finished one in 3 days (approx. 6 total reading hours). It all depends on the author and how much the subject interests you.

Nothing wrong with keeping ones interest.

I wouldnt see it as bad! I have done it a lot the only annoying thing is that it ends too quickly.

I find it feels a lot more intense if you read a book straight through – but yeah, it doesn't last as long

I did that with Across the Nightingale Floor last, and was just in TEARS by the end.

I had a temp job for a few months that consisted of sitting at a desk waiting for a phone to ring. Occasionally it did. It was suggested to me that I might like to have a book along. During this assignment, I often completed a book in a day; and it passed the time, but they were the mindless sort of books mostly, such as old Harlequins. The ones that used to cost 75 cents. I then graduated to cozy mysteries, and an occasional memoir, and some of them took more than a day.
