Critique and Literary Agent responsibilites

Post by Lexicon »

I have signed with a Literary Agent, but I'm beginning to doubt this was a good choice. They told me in order to proceed I needed a critique for a small fee. Well the critique came back, but now I'm not sure if my writing is good enough. I am now second guessing my ability. Geez, I don't even know if I'm writing sentences correct. I feel very overwhelmed right now and need someone to help me find someone to help edit, but the Agent wants more money. Any advice or guidance would be appreciated.

I am not an expert at all, but if the books I have read are any example you do not need to be able to write sentences well to sell a book. I am just finishing four books by Thomas Harris and I think his sentence structure is horrid, but the books were not harmed by it. In fact I would say that his seemingly poor writing are what made his books scary.
