BUT, I did see this really cool cabinet idea on HGTV today! This group found old hardcover books in the trash and used a sharp saw to neatly cut the spines off. They then decorated the shelf with the spines, gluing them to the cabinet doors and such. The end result was pretty cool!
I will say, however, that it pained me to think about the fact that those books could never be read again...so, while the idea is neat, I could never personally destroy a book in order to create a cabinet like that in my home.
