I'm pretty introverted, but when I'm with people I know and/or talking about something I find really interesting (like books), I can talk all day. I'm pretty shy and I prefer to have a small group of friends I know well rather than a big group of acquaintances. I'm not the type of person to start a conversation with a stranger on the bus or anything. I do find it ironic that a lot of people who like reading and writing are quiet, as we do spend a lot of time with words. I'm not sure about other people, but for me it makes a big difference when I have time to think about what I'm saying when I'm sitting down and writing, and then having plenty of time to revise. I'm a terrible public speaker, and I have to practice whatever I'm saying a ton just to give even a mediocre presentation.

I am a writer and yes I'm a quiet person.... sometimes. I think sometimes I live through my writing and give my characters (male and female) the confidence that I sometimes wish I possessed.

But other times I'm loud and bubbly! And surpass my characters in confidence.

You never know which Sidnay your going to get on a particular day

I don't' know if I'm a quiet person exactly but it does take me a while to get out of my shell. I also think of myself as an introvert so even when I am being outgoing it usually won't last for long because I find it exhausting.

I think that in general a lot of writers are quiet but there is also a stereotype about writers being odd ducks who just lurk in their homes and write all the time. Loud, extroverted people can be writers just as well as quieter people I think. We just don't hear about those writers as much.

I'm a quiet and borderline socially awkward person and I always have been. I know several others who consider themselves to be writers and they have the same kind of anti social personality. I find it pretty interested though that in my experience, writers personalities seem to mirror the kind of work they like to write.

I'm more quiet. I rather think about story plots that don't happen in an average day then converse for the sake of noise.

Quiet? Definitely not. Reserved? Perhaps. Haven't always been wise enough to think before speaking; I was always the opinionated kid being told to shut up and stay out of the trouble that my mouth was liable to get me in! However, through the years I have absolutely learned that old adage regarding silence being golden is true.

I would say my quietness and writing, go hand in hand, because I utilize writing to speak my thoughts so I don't talk a lot.

I am a quite person, I tend to like to keep to myself and only have a small group of friends that are close to me. Even around most of my family besides my mother and grandparents I am quite around. around my closest friends its different because they know how I am and even two of my closet friends it took one a while to actually get close to me while the other who is more closer to my personality we clicked right away cause we have reading and writing in common. She is actually the only one that reads my work as it is going to let me know how everything is and find grammar issues that I may miss.

I'm definitely a quiet, shy person and I keep most of my thoughts to myself unless I am writing.

I'm usually quiet around people I don't know, at least the first time I meet them. Otherwise, I'm generally pretty outgoing. I've been described as obnoxious because once I get talking, I don't shut up. However, generally I know there is a time and a place to be quiet, so I don't usually have trouble with that. As for it being connected to my writing, I generally use my own personality to write characters with opposite personalities from me, so I like to write characters that are quiet and more introverted.

If I had things my way, I would probably not talk at all. I am a pretty quiet person. But I have found that I am extremely good at faking being an extroverted person. When I had to start working I noticed that I was a far more successful worker if I had a very bright, cheery and outgoing personality.

Typically I am a quite person. Until I get to know you. Then I can talk for days. Unless the mood strikes and I go silent for a week at a time. Just depends on my mood.

I am a quite person. I have always been more the shy type of person who does not talk much. Although I don't think I'm as shy as i used to be I still don't talk much to people that I don't know well. I'm just a quiet type of person. The type of person that if someone starts talking to me maybe asking questions or something then I will talk more. So I guess I'm more of the type of person that does better communicating if someone else leads the conversation. Although I have tried to work on this over the years and I have did pretty well I think talking to some people more.

Me too! Peter Pan forever!

Although I do find myself with a curious little Alice thing going on.

I would say that I can be shy but if I am happy and comfortable then I talk like anyone else.

Yes. I'm a shy person. I think most writers are because we use writing as our way of expressing what sometimes we can't in conversation. I also think if you aren't a massive talker you observe more while you aren't talking and observing is a huge asset to been a writer.
