Just finished "Parrot and Olivier in America" - Peter Carey. (Not bad) I am now starting "Quo Vadis" - Henryk Sienkiewicz.

I am reading 'The Bible of Clay' by Julia Navarro, tis an odd one. It is a translation from the original Spanish version, so perhaps it is suffering for that... the narrative seems basic and stunted at time. I am still not sure what is going to happen, it is one of those books with disparate characters spread across the continents, all heading toward the same goal.

I also read her 'The Brotherhood of the Holy Shroud'... that was the same, but the coming together plot was well handled, the ending was somewhat weak however.

I am currently reading "Mr. Tayto, The Man Inside The Jacket", it is the best-selling book in Ireland at the moment and it is outselling political memoirs and sporting autobiographies but here's the thing-its a fictional autobiography about a potato chip, i kid you not! Tayto is the most popular brand of crisps in Ireland and his "life story" is currently flying off the shelves.

I'm reading The Lovely Bones. I was going to wait and see the movie first but my kids have been out of school for about 10 days and if I don't hide out for a while I feel the insanity closing in.

P.S. Cadfael, I'm a fan of the Cadfael series, as well :)

I am currently reading The Debutante Divorcee by Plum Sykes. I didn't like it at first but now I'm really enjoying it. Its a light read between semesters.

I'm reading The Poisonwood Bible, and it's amazing. When I read it was about a missionary in the Congo, my first thought was, "Meh, maybe I should just take it back to the library and check it out another time." I'm so glad I decided to read it now, though! I highly recommend it.

Currently I'm reading A Portrait of the Artist as a young man by James Joyce. It was #2 on modern librarys list of greatest novels. I'm a sucker for "greatest" lists. Its not an easy read but its definitely food for thought, which is what I like. My wife bought Push and its an easy quick read so its been my potty reading material. Lol. I want to see Precious after finishing it. I've heard its better than the book.
