This book was terrible, it was incredibly boring, I hard a really hard time finishing it. The storyline isn't all that, it's really hard to relate to the characters. Really, I can't say anything positive about the book except that I liked the cover. That's how much I hated it.

I've discovered that I'm really not into John Green's books at all, I find them overhyped and devoid of meaning. It would be one thing if I thought they were meaningless but enjoyed reading them, but I don't. :| Am I the only one?

I jumped into this book really excited. After reading Fault in Our Stars I tackled as much John Green as I could get my hands on! I LOVED Looking For Alaska. I thought it was the write mixture of dark and light. But The Abundance of Katherines fell short for me. I thought the story line was unlikely. I thought the main character's best friend was just a huge cliche. And the whole time I kept thinking how smart this guy is yet he is so dumb. So dumb.

I was able to get through the whole book but begrudgingly and just in order to get to a new book, faster.

I love John Green, and I liked this novel, but it was not my favorite of his. I would recommend this book to someone who already likes John Green, but not as a first work of his.

I love John Greene, but An Abundance of Katherines didn't really spark my interest.

It is romantic but its really funny. Its different from most of the John Green's books. Its about a boy who always dates girls with name Katherine and is always rejected by them. He is a prodigy and wants to become genius one day.

There is a romance in the book, but it mostly focuses on the main character. I agree that this was not my favorite of his works and I often found myself having to re read multiple pages because my mind had wandered away from the plot to things much more interesting like my grocery list for the week or how much laundry I had left to do. It has an undercurrent theme of math, which may be why I was so disinterested. I hate math. And I generally don't relate to people who love it. So there my lie the problem for my distaste for the book.

I've read a couple of other John Green books, and I think he's a pretty good author. I haven't given this one a shot yet. The reviews seem really mixed, so maybe it's one of those you-either-love-it-or-hate-it books.

I know a lot of people don't like this one as much, but I actually like this one more than The Fault in Our Stars. I don't know why exactly, but I think I like his humorous books a little more than his sad books. Paper Towns is my favorite of his, but An Abundance of Katherines is a close second. Definitely worth the read!

It was an abundance of Jennifers for me...

That said, is there a John Green book one might recommend new readers start with? I'm trying to find the right book for a neighbor's kiddo.

This was my first book of John Green and I loved it to pieces. As I didn't have any expectation of his writing, I instantly fell in love with his writing style. The story lacked but it was still a good read, capturing the mind of a man who is extremely smart yet, extremely weak at the knees for Katherine's. Great read, satisfying ending and would recommend it to all my socially awkward friends.

This is the first, and so far only, John Green book I have read. I chose it because of the quirky premise that Collin only dates girls named Katherine. Not by choice, that's just how it happens. The whole male-coming of age road trip thing is a little cliche, but still mostly held my interest. Realistic plot line? Absolutely not! But it was a fun read, and I think will be appealing to high school and upper middle school readers in particular.

I found the storyline ok, and I must admit it was an unusual one. However, it is true it was not his greatest book, but I was able to finish it even if it took me way longer than a normal book. At first, Collin seemed boring, but after reading for a while he seemed more lively and realistic than before. I am not someone who enjoys math, so it was a lot harder to get into this book than Green's other books.
