Not really. Generally I'll read it if it appeals to me regardless of the page count.

I see long books as a challenge, but I don't pass up the challenge as long as I have the time to devote to the book.

Generally not. Plenty can be said in few pages, and even more in plenty :)

I would have to say it depends ... If it's a genre that I am interested in I am more likely to read it no matter the number of pages, but if I'm not particularly interested in the theme a book with many many pages will make me cringe. I like a book to have enough room for detail and suspense so a big book is great :)

I guess it really depends on how busy I have and how much time I have to read it. But if a page has a crazy amount of pages like 600 pages, I won't even bother to start reading it until summer or winter break. I really enjoy reading short stories so it really doesn't matter to me how few pages it has. Sometimes short stories have been some of the best stories I have read.

No, page count doesn't really matter to me. If the story sounds interesting, I don't care how long it is.

I don't like short stories, as such, but with a novel, word count doesn't generally matter to me. I've read a couple of Anne Perry's novellas in which the characters and plot have been as well developed as in some books twice that length. Picking up an overly long book can also be a little daunting. I'd have to be certain it was going to hold my interest before I plunged into it.

I won't be fettered from reading a too-short book, but I sometimes will put off reading a long one (War and Peace!) until I find a good time for it, which never happens!

I liked it with fettered. I think that is going to be my word of the day! :)

I find a really thick book to be a little intimidating if it is a classic (War and Peace, Les Miserables etc). My Kindle has gotten me past that issue as there is not the constant reminder of how far you still have to go. I purposely do not look at the little bottom right corner that tells you a percentage of the book you have done, or the bottom left that tells you how many hrs and minutes you have left to go. At my reading speed, I can read Les Miserables in 21hrs and 37mins (no sleeping or showering allowed). :|

Yikes. I am not sure if it is worth that sacrifice to me. I like my sleep and my friends like me to shower regularly.

no, either it's 200 or 800 pages if it has a good synopsis I'll read it in a heartbeat. :D

I am more inclined to download a book onto my kindle if it's 250+ pages. For some reason when I see a 250+ page count, I get a sense of commitment to the story line, details, & characters... As if it's something I can really dive into & deeper than I could if it were any less.
