You may enjoy "Travelling with Herodotus" by Ryszard Kapucinski thenKLyons1 wrote:Though I have yet to read Homer, I enjoyed No-Man's Lands: One Man's Odyssey Through The Odyssey by Scott Huler. It's a modern-day travelogue through the Mediterranean locations believed to be represented in Homer's tale, with plenty of discussion of the classic along the way.

I had not heard of that one before, and you're right - it sounds exactly like something that should be on my reading list. Excuse me, I'm off to check the library's online catalog ...Adonis Maratos wrote: You may enjoy "Travelling with Herodotus" by Ryszard Kapucinski then

Or that it was epecially overly harsh that he then killed/hung all the women servants that had slept with the suitors?
Deffinitely a culture/ time clash between now and ancient Greece there I think!
