Falling Into Place by Amy Zhang

Post by legace »

Liz used to be a loser, a coward, a victim. Now she is the Queen Bee of her high school. She is worshipped and feared. Bowed to, and cowered away from. She is the best. Until she realizes that she has ruined people's lives and decides she shouldn't be around to ruin anyone else's.

Liz's story is told in short, quick, easy-to-read bursts equal with excitement, suspense, and despair. The chapters are usually only one to three pages long and they zoom back and forth from the past to the present, and to Liz's 'future.'

Zhang has illuminated depression and apathy (to life) in an indirect way that will certainly hit home for many people, young and old. She has done a phenomenal job on this story, and I hope she will continue to write.
