I picked Jones's book because it intrigued me. I'm almost a complete vegetarian, and my mother is one. It seemed familiar, but then again... Although, I wasn't too sure I'd learn much from it. How surprised I've been!

This book mainly adresses the plant based foods and diet, along with other types of dietary habits to do's and don't's, etc. It's very informative, though I'd say it needs a bit more editing.

The good points of this handbook is that it's short, concise, and informative. It touches so many different areas related to the topic, it's interesting for many would have put them aside, such as the differences between vegans and plant foods users. Really, this distingues his book from many others. Another thing I really liked was he did not only 'sell' it, he also admitted that paired with better lifestyle habits, it gave greater results. Though, I think the best part of this book is that it makes you think about your eating choices - it actually made me finally decide to be a vegetarian, due to how 150 billions animals are killed because we eat them! It made me so sick to my stomach I told my mom I was stopping (she was so gleeful!). Plus, he keeps his humane side. What I mean is we often see books of this type that are written so professionally it's annoying, but he inserts small comments about himself, or life, that it's hard not to like it.

The bad sides to it are mostly the grammar and orthography mistakes. At first, it wasn't so bad. Then, it started hurting me. There are many missing hyphens. Moreover, I know I've mentioned how great it was to have his comments and all (and it is!), however, sometimes it gets too personal. There are some sentences like: ''Saves a lot of energy.'' Where is the ''It'' at the beginning? I don't like this as I think every book should have at least proper grammar and sentence structure.

Overall, a very good and helpful book! I would suggest it to everyone having difficulties switching eating habits, or to anyone really, just because it's a pleasant and informative read and gives you more information about the world around you. I give it a rating of 3 out of 4 because of the grammar and sometimes too personal sentences. I strongly recommend an editing work on this handbook; it will make it an even better read.

I got a little lost in this review since I thought they were a vegetarian, and that was part of not knowing what all they would learn from this book. But then later they said this book made them choose to be vegetarian. haha. I do like how they talk about how it is a laid back book, and we get to know a little bit about the author through examples given in the book. I actually don't like how the reviewer nitpicks at grammar and suggests editing. I feel like that should have been a personal note to the author, and that the review should focus on content. Then again maybe it was to such an amount to be detrimental to a reader. Knowing that really makes me no longer want to give the book a try though. If a person is going to go ahead and publish without proper editing.. I mean a mistake here and there is normal... it makes me wonder how much effort is really behind the content as well. I will keep this book in mind, but I am definitely going to thumb through it well before making a purchase.
I love LOVE. <3
