"Straw Men" trilogy by Michael Marshall

Post by moderntimes »

I'd like to recommend a trilogy of offbeat but thrilling modern mysteries, the "Straw Men Trilogy" by British author Michael Marshall Smith. He writes SF under that name, and then writes mysteries under Michael Marshall.

The Straw Men trilogy is:

1- The Straw Men
2- The Upright Man (in the UK, "The Lonely Dead")
3- Blood of Angels

The story is set in modern America. It starts as a typical hunt for a serial killer, and then takes the most amazing twists and turns imaginable. You will not forget the books, I promise you.

Who here has read these novels?

I have heard about this trilogy and it's on my reading list. Thank you for reminding me of them. :)

Believe me, if you read maybe the first 2 chapters of "The Straw Men" you'll be hooked.

Scary? More like exciting and disturbing. The violence is fairly graphic and the story adult. Not "scary" like jump out and say boo.

Also, it does not have Orcs, Wizards, fuzzy people, teenage heroes, etc. All human, all the time. ha ha
