I also appreciated that, while this fits into the dystopian YA genre that is so popular these days, it tried to do something a little different (though I am sure there are many who would disagree). The different factions and their purposes are excellent and the thought that went into them was apparent.
Overall, this is a book that I would recommend - even if just for this book rather than the rest of the series.
