Superstition By: David Ambrose

This book will leave you thinking. Especially if you are into ghosts, curses and science fiction combined. It also is based on true events that took place in the seventies, if that does not thrill you to death as well! David Ambrose, classic horror writer extraordinaire, clearly describes a situation reminiscent of parapsychology experiments gone awry.
The author distorts our reality as we read and begins with a curse which takes us into a strange world your not even sure exists. The style definitely puts the reader on the same level as the characters of the book. The twists and turns keep you at the edge of your seat but do not confuse you, I couldn't put this book down. In the beginning the reader can already see that something bad is going to happen to the main character from her attitude towards the unexplainable and to exposing fake mediums.
She doesn't realize any of the things they do could be real, which also leaves her vulnerable to whats coming at her. As the book continues, the reader is treated to a scene where not believing in superstitions becomes the most dangerous thing the characters can do and one by one they pay for being skeptical.
If our main character had believed in something, she may never have become involved in the strange experiment; coming right on the heels of a curse, which demanded trusting in people she did not know. She is not alone in her skepticism though, and as she teams up with other skeptics for reasons even she does not understand, they all fall victim to the very forces they are trying to prove and/or disprove. Not to mention messing with ideas none of the characters really can conceive, like creating ghosts...
This is a great book by David Ambrose that any fan of supernatural thrillers will enjoy.
