I watched "Into the Woods" this weekend. I hated it. It was a musical, I love musicals, but this one was bad. I hated that Prince Charming and Cinderella got married and Prince Charming cheated on Cinderella.... so they split up ... I don't recommend this if you want to take your children, most of the kids in the theater were restless and bored and I do not think it was a good roll model movie for kids at all.

Doesn't really qualify as cinema I suppose...but have just started watching Season 1 (up to episode 5) of Game of Thrones. Not quite sure what I think of the whole business yet...

Assignment Outer Space with Rick Van Nutter. Good storyline, crappy everything else. About a reporter who goes on a mission in space. Laughable special effects, dialogue that was probably written by 3rd graders, The dubbing from German into English reminded me of those old third-rate chop-socky movies from the late 60's and early 70's where their mouths couldnt keep up with the dialogue. This was one of those movies where you want two copies, one to crap on and one to cover it with. But I kind of liked it. As Ive said before, I have no taste.

Into the Woods with Streep and Depp. This musical transferred very poorly from the stage (where I saw it years ago and it was very entertaining) to a really meh...almost annoying film. Maybe 3/10 and that is being very very generous.

Seeing Selma tonight and expecting great things...

I watched That Awkward Moment last. I found it pretty amusing. I usually like films like this, the mildly inappropriate but hilarious ones. However, this one could have been funnier.

Saw Selma. Amazing movie. When they used a bit of the actual footage near the end of the march into Montgomery I nearly cried. Nearly a 10...had Oprah not quoted a passage from her last book in the midst of it. The book (and the context) was appropriate...but interjecting it into a film of this magnitude was certainly not. 9/10

Just watched Divergent...wasnt very impressed. Didnt really answer any questions about what happened or whats beyond the fence, or about a million others. I am assuming the book is better and I know its a trilogy...but the movie didnt make me want to read the book. Thoughts? how was the book?
