What faction would you have chosen at 16?

Discuss the June 2014 book of the month Divergent by Veronica Roth. While only Divergent--the first book of the series--is the book of the month, feel free to use this subforum to discuss the rest of the series or to talk about the movies, but make sure not to post spoilers unless noted in the topic title.

I would have probably chosen Dauntless and then soon been faction-less there after. lol Because I would not have expected all of what they ended up getting themselves into. But maybe I would have been in Amity.

I would most likely have been born into Abnegation, as me and my family are Christians and strive to be selfless like Jesus. But I don't think I would've stayed. I'm really not very honest and tend to push the limits with what I can get away with; I'm about as far from peaceful as one can safely be; I'm cunning, but not smart like the Erudite; And I'm not very selfless, though the rest of my family would fit right into Abnegation. So I think I would've chosen Dauntless, as I tend to be a bit more fearless than what's considered safe in many areas. But then I also don't know if I could just up and leave everything I've ever known, all my family. It would be such a tough decision, and at 16, I think I would pass out before I chose. Then who knows what would happen...

I likely would have chosen Amity. I enjoy being at peace with others. If I had not chosen Amity it would have been Erudite because I love to learn.

I'm not sure which I would have been born into as me and my siblings are all very academic however our parents weren't so I think my siblings and I would choose Erudite but I don't know where our parents would be! I choose erudite as I have always loved learning and reading and knowledge, the only hobby I love more being music and songwriting however there isn't really a creative faction so I will have to make do!

I most likely would have been born into Erudite, as my family places high value on education. I likely would have stayed Eridite at 16, though at 29 I would have wished for Amity. I have an anxious personality that would probably be calmed among the Amity.

I would have probably been born into Erudite because of my mother and how much she loves knowledge and information. I think I would have been a Divergent because I have such a versatile personality and I've never been a conventional type of person (not because I rebel, but because I've always thought out of the box). I don't know that I could have chosen one to be in forever. Dauntless would nurture my wild, adventurous, and protective side. Amity would nurture the Transcendentalist in me that yearns to live alongside nature and my diplomatic nature. My empathetic heart and love for caring for others would be drawn to Abnegation. Since I have to choose one though, I would probably choose Dauntless. Maybe.

That is a hard decision because at the time I was feeling pretty reckless and would want to choose Dauntless. I am not sure if I would have been brave enough. I also would have been interested in Candor since I dislike people who lie just to appease others.... Maybe I would have been divergent too :)

I grew up an Army brat, so I would assume that my family would be Dauntless. It was all about being tough and proud and hooraw when I was younger. At 16 I would have chosen to be in Erudite. I was never very tough, but I loved to read and to learn. I was the first person to go to college in my family, and school has always been important. I like education enough to be a middle school teacher now that I'm an adult! I don't consider myself stuck-up like the Erudite, but I certainly can come off more introverted because I prefer to be left alone when I'm reading, lol!

I would have chosen Erudite, and although now I think factions are a terrible idea, I suspect that at sixteen I would have been really into the idea of essentially choosing your tribe.

I would probably have chosen to be Dauntless, just for the idea of being rebellious. Of course, I would probably end up Fractionless because I couldn't pass all the test lol!

I may have ended up being a Divergent as I can see myself in many of them, but I feel Erudite is probably the best fit for my personality. I likely would have chosen Erudite as I highly value education, but at the same time, I may have chosen Abnegation as I tend to fade into the background and let others shine.
Now if I was choosing based on my normal clothing style, I would have been through and through Dauntless.

I would have definitely chosen Erudite which, incidentally, is the faction I got when I did the quiz at the end of the book. Knowledge is incredibly important to me, and I spend most of my time reading and learning. As a result, I feel like I would really flourish in a faction like that. I'm competitive when it comes to grades and such, so that environment would be great for me.
