Heir Untamed Series, book 1
In the introduction we meet Chey Sinclair. A calendar photographer on her way to the poorhouse given her chosen profession and lack of work. Chey is faced with poverty and homelessness unless something comes along quickly and sure enough her golden goose comes up just as soon as we figure out her destitute situation. Chey is offered the opportunity of a lifetime by going to a foreign country called Latvala, where she is expected to take photographs of the family and the royal grounds as well as some of the greater parts about the country.
When she arrives she is greeted by the family and high security measure. She's shown where she can and cannot go on royal grounds and is taken care of greatly by the royal staff. During her first encounter with the royal family she gets more than she bargained for with unexpected disdain for her presence by the woman of the patriarch and with extra attention from some of the men. All of this builds up a great expectation for scandal and romance and optimism in the romance.
Chey gets time off to herself eventually and goes to explore the royal grounds. She almost Immediately encounters the head of security Sandar Fisk who irritates and excites her. The more time she spends with the royal family the more she ends up falling for the head of security, all the while the second brother (Mattias) in line to the throne seems to be making advances at her. While there is an intense attraction between both parties Chey ultimately convinces herself she could never have a relationship with the prince and pursues her relationship with Sander.
All of this would be going great for Chey, if it weren't for the fact that someone keeps trying to murder her. Multiple attempts are made on her life, which inadvertently bring her and Fisk closer together. Does anything ever come of Chey and Mattias, i do not know, but the surprising twist at the end, and the revelations made by sander at the end of book one are both shocking and awesome and by the time you're through you are in fact left wanting more. So i suppose i would recommend this to anyone looking for a sweet summertime, quick page-turning romantic murder mystery adventure. Oh, and there's a fun ghost story just to keep you interested in the middle too
