Anthony Doerr, anyone?

Has anyone read Anthony Doerr's latest book All the Light We Cannot See? It is the first thing I read of his and I thought it was one of the best books written in the past few years. It felt whole and well-wrought. It has a bit of a Modernist feel in that it is intricate and he moves images and motifs around a lot and utilizes them to create both unity between his two main characters, but also to build a force which is intense and penetrating by the resolution and culmination at the end.

Thoughts on the book? Or on one of Doerr's other books, Thought I haven't read much else of his, I'd like to hear what any of you think.

Anthony Doerr, wow. There is so much to say about him and about All The Light We Cannot See. It was so polished and well written it's absolutely incredible. The book was one of the best I've read in a long time. I loved that the book was sophisticated, yet whimsical. He played with so many different themes and topics in that book. The fact that I still relish it even though I read it a few months ago just says how much I really enjoyed it. I have not read any other works by him, but just from All the Light We Cannot See I can tell he is a talented author, and I am very excited to read some more of his books. My favorite thing about All the Light we Cannot See has to be the fact that it was so versatile. There was German, French, Science, and the struggles of life and responsibilities. Absolutely incredible.

His book is on my potential reading list. I'm just a little weary because "The Book Thief" by Markus Zusak was another story during WWII that I personally think can't be topped. Is there plenty of difference between the two?

I read the book "All the Light We Cannot See" by Anthony Doerr. I love his intricate and detailed descriptions in the novel. This book won the Pulitzer Prize in 2015. He also wrote "The Shell Collector."
