Which games you used to play when you were a kid?

I had some board game where you had to make these creatures out of play-doh, and then try not to destroy them with the traps of the game. But the traps were the best part, so we would just make the creatures and then destroy them.

Board games - Sorry, Perfection, and Mouse Trap.

Outside games - Freeze Tag, Swing Tag (best game ever), and baseball.

I remember there was a game called Super Metroid which used to seem endlessly complex, but that was the fascinating part of it. Then there was Mortal Kombat II which used to be my all-time favorite - I loved inflicting graphic violence on people! And of course Prince of Persia whose animation was way better than any other game of those times. And hen I look at my kids now, they seem to be in a different league altogether; either playing endless running games like Temple Run or feeding their virtual pets online so that they don't starve, or even mindlessly playing endless rounds of solitaire! And I used to think games like solitaire were meant for old retired people and not young kids

I think (taking after my Mum) I was born with a pack of cards in the hand not holding a book, learned to play chess quite early (though I've never been very good!) and in outdoor games, enjoyed rounders and table tennis. But on this thread - I want to make a remark some may disagree with. I'm 100% with people who say children spend too much time in front of one screen or another, but sometimes wonder if we don't over-romanticise SOME childhood games. In all honesty, things like Simon Says and The Farmer's in his Den bored me to tears!!
