Victim
Left alone in silence
In quiet, not in peace
A victim of the violence
A soul's left frail and weak
A spirit drifting aimlessly
A mind left in a daze
With eyes that can't see anything
Too blinded by the haze
A body that's been battered
This body's bruised and sore
A moral that's been shattered
A life not living anymore
Left alone in silence
and tonight I lie awake
knowing that tomorrow still
I'm a victim of the Hate

Unfortunately earlier this month was the 4 year anniversary of the death of my young fiance and the end of the month is the 7 year anniversary of being assaulted as to put non graphically.. Sometimes pain a can create beauty and that's where amazing artwork comes from. Especially writing.
I am sorry to hear of the tragedy in your life. I guess on some level we all have to face some demons. Mine always come in the middle of the night and yes, I agree that pain, though at the time it's unfathomable, can bring beauty later in life.

Here is a beautiful quote by Joseph Campbell that I absolutely love: "Find a place inside where there's joy, and the joy will burn out the pain.."
I didn't write this myself but I think its beautiful all the same.

Thanks TammyO! I love the quote as well. So true. I was crying at the time I wrote this, so stifled by the pain, I guess emotion comes through when it's dripping all over the paper.TammyO wrote:This a very beautiful. You truly have a special gift. Yes, this is dark but it has such an effect. I can almost feel what your'e feeling.
