Funniest comment someone's made about your watch?

Post by fay520 »

As we all know, everyone looks at us like madmen because we spend so much money on watches while they are content with owning one. Meanwhile, we think they're crazy for precisely the same reason.*

What's the funniest comment(s) that someone else has made about your watch? It could be from a wife, husband, boy/girlfriend, co-worker, boss, classmate, salesman, or even a complete stranger.

I was once sitting nonchalantly in class when my friend sitting next to me pointed at the silver side of my G-Shock and exclaimed,"DUDE! What's that, a detonator?"

I simply replied by saying,"Don't be silly".
Then I pointed to the red button on the other side of my watch and said,"THAT'S the detonator".

A friend of mine once asked if my watch can open a bottle...
I laughed at that

"Isn't that a man's watch?"

And yes, I'm a girl!

Contender for the weirdest thread of the year!

I can honestly say that nobody has ever made a comment on my watch in my whole life, the only comment has been made by me and probably something along the lines of "What was i thinking..."!

Haha, I had one that by bro gave my sister but she hates him so she gave it to me...

It was this pirate watch, a nice leather rough band with faded gold holes for the stick thingy and there was a metal cover thing that had a black background and a dragon on it over the face; 'tis actually a very dang cool watch.

So at school I kept lifting the cover and letting it snap back, this kid stared at me doing that for a while and asked if it was a Pez dispenser...
And another asked if it was magic, like voodoo or something, and if that dragon comes to life.

I love people.

When I was in school I always used to keep my watch inside my school bag instead of wearing it because it was too big for me and I hadn't gotten around to shortening it. Anyway, so one day I was taking it out of my bag in front of a friend, and she blurted out, "I have a crush on that." She looked as shocked as I was after her little confession. ;)

I once bought a watch in Ti Juana that had a picture of a girl on it, she was dressed in the same condition as when she was born. When it got to the top of the hour, a thing would come up that said "Time to -----. I had a lot of comments on it. But sadly, like all watches bought from a Ti Juana street vendor, It quit working after a short time.

Youre right Mike, this is definetly a strange thread, but I had to throw in my one and only weird watch experience.
"I planted some birdseed. A bird came up. Now I dont know what to feed it." Ramblings of a retired senile mind.
