Wilkie Collins' The Woman in White

Post by meg-reads »

I read Wilkie Collins' The Woman in White for a university course. My expectations were low, and was I ever shocked! This book has sky-rocketed to one of my favourite novels. The plot is riveting and the characters are written masterfully. I found the narrative structure captivating and I was literally on the edge of my seat reading this one. Collins is a writing genius. The story is so well-written that it is truly believable, and your emotions are bound to take a roller coaster ride.
Walter Hartright meets a mysterious woman dressed in white on an abandoned road in the middle of the night. This strange encounter leads to disastrous and marvellously mysterious events. Walter falls in love with a doomed lady whom he must save from the evil mastermind, Count Fosco. This Victorian sensation novel is not one you will want to miss!
