What faction would you have chosen at 16?

I think my family would have been Amity growing up. I'm not sure if I would've chosen to stay there, or if I would've chosen Erudite because I value education so highly. Knowing myself at 16, I probably would've stayed in Amity (if not just to stay with my family).

Since I'm still only 17, I can say that I probably would have chosen Abegnation and would still choose this now. But it would have been close between this and Candid. I think honesty and self giving are the most important things. Definitely not Dauntless for the same reasons I would never want to be a Gryffindor. Bravery is great but Dauntless seems to focus more on bravado than on actual bravery and besides, it really matters where that bravery is directed.
I haven't seen enough of Amity to judge whether they'd be a good fit though they sound lovely. As for Erudite, I appreciate intelligence but I get easily annoyed by people who value it above all else. There are more important things.

At 16 I would choose dauntless. Why? Because overcoming my fears or learning to deal with them is something I would love to learn plus the freedom means a lot to me. I am not a contained person and I do not like to be controlled so being free is something I would love. Knowing how to defend myself is icing on the cake. Though I do love Erudite as well because I love to learn.

Being 16 and having to choose a faction to remain in for the rest of your life seems impossible. I think at 16 I would have chosen something drastically different than what I would chose now as an adult. I feel like most adolescents crave to defy the norms and be a little reckless at that age, thus choosing Dauntless. However, they made change their mind the older than get. However, it then turns into a sort of nature vs. nurture debate. Say an individual chooses dauntless and is therefore surrounded by like minds, would they never acknowledge their educational desires simply because they were surrounded by people who don't value that? An interesting concept and impossible to decide, in my opinion, unless you were born into that type of society and way of thinking.

There's no way I could have chosen dauntless, especially after seeing what it is they do! Honestly, I would have chosen to stick with my family, whatever faction they may have been in. Giving up my family, friends and everything I've ever known at 16 would have been too much to handle.

I probably would have been born Erudite and chosen Amity at 16 since I was rebelling against the pressures of school at the time. I might of liked Amity but leaving my family would have been really hard.

I feel I would have been born into Erudite my is full of scientists and mathematicians. I, however, would have chosen Amity when I turned 16. I could be considered a hippie spirit. I was born craving others companies and would feel at peace working in an easy going, gentle community. I often think the world I live in now is too rough for me. I would love to wear the red clothes and spend my days in the sun.

At 16, Erudite. I would have loved the look and fire of the Dauntless, but I wouldn't have wanted to run those risks. Not in my nature. Now … probably pick the same.

I would have been born Erudite too! My family has always stressed the importance of knowledge and education. It was never a question if I would go to college. I think my parents would have fallen over if I had chosen not to go.

I was a pretty rebellious teen. I think if my parents wanted me to choose Erudite, I definitely would have chosen something else. I always thought I could do things on my own. I think my personality is more Dauntless than anything else, but it would have been hard to choose because I don't think I would have fit well into any of the faction choices.

I think I would have chosen Erudite because my education is important to me and I've always wanted to be a doctor.

I think I would have been born into Erudite because my father used to be a principal and has always found education to be important. It would be a tough choice between Erudite and Amity because both could be valuable. Although I do think they had too much power in the book and used their power to do bad things, I like that they valued knowledge. Amity would be a good choice too because they believe that everything should be resolved in kindness and their attitudes are always peaceful. Dauntless I would definitely not choose because they are so hard on their initiates. I can respect Abnegation, but I don't think I could be a part of it. I agree that it is important to be selfless, but there should be times to take care of yourself as well. I do believe that doing things for others is important too, and that is why I can at least respect that faction even though I wouldn't want to be Abnegation myself. So my choices would definitely be between Erudite and Amity. I just don't know which one I would choose though.

I think that I would have been born into Erudite as my family takes knowledge and learning very seriously. I probably would have stayed there because it seems to be the faction that fits me the most...however, I have a feeling that I would also be divergent. I feel like I fit into nearly all the factions, except for maybe Dauntless and.

I think if I were to have to choose at sixteen at the Choosing Ceremony, I would have been making a last minute decision. I can not think about giving up the studious side of me but I can't imagine losing my kindness or selflessness either. I cannot tell you which I would choose because I value all of them and would want to choose all of them. I definitely could rule out Candor though. I cannot imagine having all my secrets out in the open for everyone to know.
