Hi. I bought an Amazon Kindle Touch. Baically I've been buying at Amazon since 2004 and since 2012 or so I have been using their app for Windows and then for my Windows Phone, and then for my Microsoft Surface. I owned like 30 eBooks, mostly technical already. The app for Windows even lets you read any epub or mobi eBook, regardless of where you got it (say, from ProjectGutenberg).

Finally, when I decided to buy a device only for reading (the Surface is great but is a little heavy), it seemed natural to go with Amazon. And in my country only two Amazon devices are for sale: Kindle Touch and Kindle Whitepaper. I tried both at the store, and the Whitepaper didn't convince me, so got the Touch.

Cheers!

I own a kindle. Recieved it as a gift after swearing off ereaders without even giving them a chance. I love it for the ease of getting new books. With that being said, there's nothing like pulling out a dog eared paperback.

I bought a Nook in 2011, because my marriage was ending and I had to downsize as a result. Since then, however, I've quit using the actual Nook and gone to using the app for that and Kindle on my cell phone and my iPad. My phone is always with me, so I like having to only carry one device.

I actually have both. I seem to use the nook Samsung tablet, because it has both apps. I do also have the basic nook and kindle reader as well, however, when I don't want the backlight bugging my eyes.

That's interesting that you have a Kindle and a Nook. I have a Kindle Fire, although I always thought it would be cool to have a Nook tablet as well.

I have a Kindle Fire but have also owned a Nook color in the past.
The only thing I prefer about the Nook over the Kindle is the ability to categorize and shelve your purchases.

I received my first Nook before Kindle allowed anything but one format to be read on their ereader. That was the main reason I got the Nook. My second Nook was because it is hard to change after all of your books are stored in one location. My significant other has a kindle though, so now we just check both B&N and Amazon before buying books. We get the both of best worlds, and because we have 3 ereaders, we never have a problem sharing.

Kindle! It was a gift for Christmas one year. We have always been Amazon fans, but I do love a paperback book from Barnes & Noble, so I do not discriminate! LOL

I think I was already in Japan when the Nook came out (or became popular?) so I didn't even know it existed until very recently.
Just recently the Kindle came out here in Japan. It's so interesting seeing books with writing going from top to bottom. But you don't notice that the pages turn toward the left, either. ;)

Or is it from the left? Maybe from the left. Toward the right. OMG, I don't know what I am talking about anymore!

I'm a Nook-y haha. I'm not sure why, but I've always had a greater appeal towards Nooks than Kindles. I have a Nook simple touch && I like the library and the ease of sharing books you're reading with your friends.

I just recently bought a Paperwhite Kindle. I bought it because I had the Kindle app before, and I didn't want to use up all of my memory on my ipod. Plus I thought it might be more convenient for travelling purposes, and specifically for this website. Otherwise, I still use regular books. A Kindle will never be able to replace the feeling I get when I am turning a page in a book lol :)

I happen to have a Kindle Fire 1st generation and I love/hate it. I love the fact that I got the color display which I use to read newspapers and magazines. Being able to read ebooks is also a plus! However, I think the first Kindle Fire simply has too many glitches for me. If it were not for the fact that my Kindle was a gift, I would have ditched this version of the Kindle and chose a different e-reader.
