Lol. Not sure you got your point across. What's your favorite decade?zeldas_lullaby wrote:Oh, I'm all about the '80's. I was two to twelve years old during that decade. It was just rad. Murder, She Wrote, The Breakfast Club, Tears for Fears, Dire Straits, Hall & Oates, Avonlea (TV show that started in '89, I think), watching old movies on Disney like Son of Flubber and Hayley Mills, Nintendo--Mario and Duck Hunt, Atari games, board games like Head of the Class. It was about more than bad perms, people. There were mullets!

The 80s rocked. I was 4-14 during that radical decade.

Oh yes, you took me back with all those songs! Do you know how long it's been since I've heard "On The Wings of Love"?zeldas_lullaby wrote:Yeah, they rocked the planet!!Ealasaid wrote: Lol. Not sure you got your point across. What's your favorite decade?![]()
The 80s rocked. I was 4-14 during that radical decade.Hey, we're nearly the same age! Do you remember all that stuff?

Also, Cabbage Patch Kids, E.T. (my dad had to leave the theater with me because of my incosolable crying), The Goonies, Madonna, jelly bracelets, Alf, Reading Rainbow, the California Raisins, Pee-Wee's Big Adventure, Double Dare, Tiffany, The Smurfs, and oh NKOTB (they still ROCK!).
Funny thing, my husband was an 80s child as well and every once in a while for family movie night, we bust out an 80s movie to make our daughters watch......and they love them. They've seen The Goonies, Gremlins, E.T., The Karate Kid. We also own DVD sets of Full House and The Wonder Years. It's really about teaching your kids the important things in life.....

Your first line cracked me up.
And thanks for adding all those other memories!! Jelly bracelets... jelly shoes! OMG! My older cousin had a pair of jelly shoes and I was so envious!
Double Dare!! The host had severe OCD, and getting covered with goop was torment for him!!

Bless your little heart about ET, but that movie always creeped me out too--I think the part with the freakin' tunnels!!
I loved your post!!

Remember the final Double Dare round when they had to find a flag in that gigantic, disgusting nose?

I do remember Are You Afraid of the Dark? Wow, flashback! Haven't thought of that show in, well, decades.
