J.K. Rowling or John Green?

John Green wins my vote. I like John Green's ability to make authentic characters that have unique voices. The characters he builds stay with you long after you have finished his novels.

J.K. Rowling made a wonderful imagnative world but her characters do not come close to the realistic quality that John Green's characters possess.

J.K Rowling for the simplicity of the fact that I rather read a fantasy involving conflicts on things that will never happen. I love the world of witches and wizards and though John Green has made a fantastic collection of his own works, J.K will never be under minded with him. The first actually chapter book I read was J.K Rowling's "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets." Though the content was very boring until the middle of the book, I enjoyed it tremendously and finished the complete series 1-8 by the time I had graduated the fourth grade.

I love both of these authors. Both of them have touched my heart, but I have to pick J.K. Rowling. She proved herself as a writer with the HP series. She showed she thoroughly thought everything through in her books. The HP series is my absolute favorite series. Plus, Rowling created Hogwarts, so she wins automatically.

I really like some of the books by John Green, but he just has never proven he thinks things through to the same extent Rowling has.

I would have to say J.K Rowling because I loved the Harry Potter series. I have read some of John Greens books but I do have to say that he hasn't written any series for me to get attached to his books. I love both their writting styles but I perfer J.K. Rowling.

Definitely J.K Rowling. My entire childhood revolved around The Harry Potter series and I am pretty sure no matter how old I get, I will always love Harry Potter.

I like J.K. Rowling more than John Green because the Harry Potter series was one of the first book series I read and actually liked.

I personally prefer J.K Rowling over John Green due to the fact that I find the Harry Potter Series much more exciting and adventurous. Whereas John Green's stories, though well written are always about romance. They also tend to get a bit too racy when unnecessary. Also, Harry Potter is able to reach a larger audience and John Green has a smaller target audience.

I've only read Paper Towns by John Green and the book really wasn't that captivating. Maybe it's because I'm not a teenager and didn't really relate to the story? I'm not sure. I've read J.K. Rowling's Cuckoo's Calling and it definitely wasn't Harry Potter but I didn't think it was that bad. I read it twice (mainly because my first time reading it I had unrealistic expectations of a second Harry Potter) and enjoyed the book much more the second time around. J.K. Rowling for the win on this one! I mean come on... Harry Potter, the Chosen One!

I like J.K. Rowling because she wrote a character called Harry Potter that created magical childhood memories for me. I like the imagination she used that I had a belief at the time that magic was real.

I like JK better because her characters have more depth. John Green is good but it's also difficult to compare the two authors. I think John does a fabulous job of teaching young adults about life with his stories. JK teaches us all to hang onto our imaginations.

I like J.K. Rowling much better. I find her books better written, as well as more appropriate. John Green's books have a good idea to them, but I can't get past all of the swear words and dirty innuendos. That's just my personal preference. I would recommend J.K. Rowling's books to anybody.

J.K. forever and always. While both authors write fiction that can transport you to a new place with new and interesting people, J.K. transports readers to a new world with new an interesting beings and entities! She provides an escape with her books, the setting and plot far enough removed from real life to provide a little hideaway, but still real enough to maintain that little speck of hope for magic.

I loved Harry Potter. I read it with my daughter and I have some special memories with that series. She's 19 now. I definately have to go with J.K Rowling
