Alfred Hitchcock and Three Investigators--Skeleton Island

Post by Spectre007 »

This was probably my least favorite of the six that I have read, but I still liked it. In this story, the boys are investigating a supposedly haunted island. The ghostly figure that is scaring everyone away is said to be the apparition of a poor girl who refused to get off of a merry-go-round at the island's amusement park when a storm approached. When the boys first get to the location, they are abandoned on a nearby island with the waters rising! By whom and for what reason, they are clueless. As the story unfolds, they learn about a recent robbery and about a missing pirate treasure. Is the 'ghost' just enjoying a free ride every stormy night, or could it in fact be scaring people away for a completely different reason?
