Icon Perfect Chemistry Series by Simone Elkeles

Post by Bookworm17 »

Well this series, let me tell you, always had you at the edge of your seat! This series takes you through the lives of three brothers(each one with there own book) with three VERY different personalities. The brothers were raised in the rough part of Chicago, have been in gang related situations, AND have had to deal with the regular ups and downs of their love interests. This series is a nail biter! Each book you not only learn about the brother that the book is focusing on you also learn about the other 2 brothers and what their personalities are like so you can form a pretty good image of what they'll be like in their book. In the 2nd and 3rd books the two older brothers make short cambios so that you can see how they have progressed and see where they are in the that particular book. I recently finished the last book which I had put off for years and though I am disappointed I didn't finish it earlier I found myself having the same interest as one of the characters in the book, whereas, years ago, I did not, so I was not only able to relate to that character a lot easier but I was also able to see their point of view as well. I finished that book in one day(technically 2 since I finished at 2 am,hehe) but who's counting? If I could I would give the series 5 stars I'm really considering rereading the series just to experience all the feelings I had with each book, because although each book is a romantic story you experience a little something new with each book and brother.

This series sounds very interesting and I have never heard of it before. Thanks for mentioning it on here as I'll probably have to go check these books out now!

I'm glad you like the review! The covers they have now for the books are new and colorful but the original cover were much better because they described what the book would entail,in just one picture! I also suggest following the author on twitter because she responds to who readers! Now sometimes it's not immediately and sometimes she may not see it but if you have burning questions for her she does very well in answering them! :)

I don't have a twitter account, but thanks for letting me know that she is available to answer questions cause I always love it when authors are able to do that. I completely understand if an author can't of course, but it's nice for the ones that can :D

I also recommend trying out her "Leaving Paradise" series. I accidently read the second book before the first one because I guess I didn't see it or because when I read the description of it I couldn't wait to take it home. I have yet to read the first book but I will do that soon! It's just as interesting as her "Perfect Chemistry" series it's actually the "Leaving Paradise" series that got me into more of Simone's books! :)

OH! And FYI she posted on twitter that she hopes to start writing another book for her "Perfect Chemistry" series by the end of this year!

I read these books a couple years ago before ebooks and e readers were a thing. I totally agree that they are great books and I loved them. I'm happy to hear she's writing another in her Chemistry series and I will keep an eye on it. I have all the book you mentioned sitting in a box behind me and I think I found my next reread book.

I really liked these books! I also liked her new(ish) book wild cards/better than perfect (she renamed it in the paper back version and I don't really know why). Also, Is her new Perfect Chemistry book going to be about their kids? Because I would really like to see that Fuentes boy (I can't remember his name) and the hockey player's story play out!

Most readers have enjoyed the series, but I sorry to say I didn't. I only read Perfect Chemistry, and didn't feel like reading the rest of the series. I particularly didn't like the conversations, and the romance...well, it seemed too much. But I liked the fact that two very different people fall in love, for I love it when "opposites attract".

Hi guys, I love this series as well. Mostly the first and third one. I must admit though that the type of characters is almost the same in all books (strong willed girls, latino boys in gangs and another character with a weak personality).

Anyhow, the series is a great one and I'll read it again for sure too :)

I loved these books! I am so excited to see other people talking about them! I read them a while ago but have since reread the whole series (the first book Perfect Chemistry a couple of times  ). I a not much of a contemporary reader but this series made me more open to the idea of reading them! I love fantasy novels but this series gives some of my favorites a run for their money in my top books of all time!

I also loved these books! They were written in a way that really drew me into the story and made me feel exactly what some of the characters were feeling. I could see myself rereading the books multiple times. :)
Has anyone else seen the book trailers on YouTube? I remember being so excited that they were going to make a movie and then being so disappointed when I found out that it was just a fan made trailer for the book. :P

This is a series??
I only read the first one. I really like the first one though. I thought it was fairly well written and it's always interesting to see books that are written from multiple points of view. I also think that the story could have been based on someone's life. It wasn't too out there of a topic.

With series like these I'm always afraid that the characters will run together with similarities, but I was pleasantly surprised with the Perfect Chemistry series. All the characters have unique quirks and i recommend this series to everyone who enjoys romances with the bad side of town, kind guys.
