One author I'd like to meet is C. S. Lewis. I am intrigued by his spiritual transformation. His writing began as someone convinced 'religion' was for fools and the uneducated. Curiosity turned into a lifelong pursuit of a closer relationship with God. Who could have imagined a cynic would write so many wonderful children's books.

Rothfuss because he looks like some kind of reggae bartender, or Steven King because... well, he is Steven King!

I would have a drink with J.K. Rowling, because if she got a little drunk she may start going around and "casting spells" on people.

Laurell K Hamilton, she just seems so down to earth in her blog. I think she would be a hoot to hang out with.

I am going the lunch route, and today I would choose Matthew Reilly (my choice would change daily). Having recently read 'The Tournament' after reading his scarecrow series I would love to have the opportunity to pick his brain about methods of research, and developing a story that has such an unusual context.

Tomorrow I would want to hang out with Clive Cussler and just listen to the stories..

Difficult question.

I'd probably say Neil Gaiman. The conversation is guaranteed to be interesting, and probably really surreal. From those of his books I've read, I think he's probably got one of the best imaginations in the world. Besides, he was friends with Terry Pratchett, and I'd like to know what he was like.

I think it'd be risky to pick a dead author - some of them were really depressed in their lives. I don't think Edgar Allan Poe or Herman Melville would be great conversationalists.

Although they'd probably be pretty happy with how their legacies turned out.

I'd have to say Mark Twain, and I haven't even read everything that he's written. But I am familiar with his quotes, and it seems like he was such a witty guy. I think he'd be a hoot. I could sit back , relax, and soak up all of his wisdom.

I would have to say Stephen King. I know he drinks because of his book On Writing which is an autobiography that gives advice to those that also wish to write :) He is a great writer and has lived through so much I think that any time with him, great or small, would be an asset.

There are so many to choose from I believe it comes down to a tie between Stephen King and J.K. Rowling. These two amazing authors have inspired me on numerous occasions it would be impossible to choose between the two.

I wouldn't mind having a beer with Mike Wells, the author of Love, Money & Murder Books 1 - 5
