Hi there all! How are you these days?
Are you a bit depressed in autumn? How do you fight it?

I love Autumn, what would you be depressed about. The leaves on trees take on the colours of a beautiful sunset, the air gets crisp and carries on the smell of leaves and fires, it gets nice and quiet outside. But I do see how some people can view it all as death and decay I guess that's what Autumn actually is.

To combat the ill effects of Autumn try watching some soccer, Premiership works well, with a warm mug of cider while letting your best soup cook. If that doesn't work look up my old friend Johnnie Walker, he'll lull you to sleep.

I get seasonal affective disorder. I bought two huge lights that put out true white light. I sit between them for an hour or so while on the computer in the morning. They help a lot.

'Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness'

I always imagine the Earth in Autumn as limbering up and gathering all it's strength for a quick dash through Winter and then the almighty leap forward that is Spring.
Sure Halloween is coming & then Christmas/New Year ... party time (what's to be depressed about?)
As we say in Ireland 'we never died a winter yet'

I'm okay in autumn but get a little down mid-winter...I just try to make season-specific traditions that I can look forward to, like peppermint mochas, and fires in the fireplace

I love all of the seasons equally really, I think they all have something great to offer. I go surfing and to the beach more, as well as bike rides in the summer, and hikes and play football for hours... Well I do then anytime really, but more people will do it with me in Summer haha. And I really enjoy the sunrises in Summer time. While in Winter I love the rain and the smell of it, as well as most people being indoors so I get the outdoors more to myself, and I enjoy walking around more though I could get some frozen toes... And the fire logs? Fantastic, as well as the opportunity to snowboard.

Autumn? Wonderful!
Sadly, I do get depressed with the darker seasons which is why I like to work more and sleep less. Probably why I get along better in Summer...
So yes, as much as I really do love Autumn and everything that comes with it (I absolutely love Halloween and never finishing my thanksgiving dinner), it's difficult for me haha. That's when I really need people around me more.

As the days get shorter, I find myself getting a little more and more gloomy I guess you could say. Although, Autumn is such a beautiful time of the year, its hard to be all that depressed. I will hold off on full blown depression until the winter comes...then its time. :)

I do know what you mean...I get seasonal affective disorder as well and this year I've purchased some Vitamin D tablets in the hope of lifting my mood a little more. I really dont like that Winter at all. Cold weather doesnt bother me its just wet weather that really annoys me as you can't go out anywhere.

I normally go on holiday in the first week of December though as its so cheap and I can normally get a good deal to the Canary Islands or somewhere like that where its pretty much guaranteed to be sunny! I need my winter sun!
