Noooo..... you're wrong that any idiot could host Wheel of Fortune.

I couldn't. I can't handle being in close physical proximity to strangers. And then when he holds the ladies' hands as he leads them to the bonus round? "Pervy Pat," I call him, but for some bizarre reason, his employers probably make him do it. (I would hate to have to hold strangers' hands, and I would psychologically be unable. No joke.)

I kind of pity him. He constantly has to console people who can't solve a simple puzzle, such as when all but one letter is up there. That would drive me nuts.

Plus, he has those funny quips that he throws in, during the interviews up front and at the end with Vanna. He has more talent than they really let him use.

Well, I guess we'll just have to disagree. I find him a bit condescending, and his "consoling" sounds like empty, insincere platitudes to me. As far as the close proximity and holding hands thing - well, I wouldn't find that difficult, so I guess I don't see it as much of a challenge. I can't remember the last time I watched WOF. It's been years, I guess.

Haha, remember the train wreck of a talk show he hosted for about a minute? Who thought THAT was a good idea???

HA HA HA. I'm fine with the agreeing to disagree. In the name of getting along, I'll shut up about them. (I'm sure I can find something else to go on about!) And no, I don't remember that at all! I do know, though, that there's a Golden Girls episode where they refer to his hosting his own talk show, but that's all I ever knew about it. I guess it failed? HA HA.

My dad and I watched him on celebrity Jeopardy! once. He did great on his first day, but when he moved onto the semi-finals, he did awful. My dad and I are convinced he took a dive. We're not sure why, though.

Don't watch much telly as I find most of it, well, unwatchable...used to love 'Cracker'...'Men behaving Badly' and 'Black Books'..there are some top class series about, and I got Sky for the first time in February..been catching up on a few. Game Of Thrones. the Sopranos...i'd seen The Wire and Breaking Bad several times, they're in my film library.
But, sad man that I am, my favourite telly is STILL Match Of The Day ...my wife hates football haha! Mind you, she watches things about hunting  ghosts!
Oh how could I forget The Newsroom, brilliant stuff!

Same here. I havent had TV for the last six or seven years, what little Ive seen of the newer shows Im not impressed. Most are too negative and depressing, the comedies are mostly stupid and even the Discovery and History Channels are reality garbage anymore. Give me back Mary Tyler Moore and Marcus Welby.

I totally agree. I don't mind Alex Trebek at all. I didn't realize people can't stand him. Pat Sajak...now he and Vanna White could switch jobs and it wouldn't matter in the slighest.
